As far as I've heard, accessory items are okay, just not the actual firearm.
I sent 12 Pmags and a bunch of weapons cleaning stuff like Bore Snakes... My son is also deployed in Afghanistan at FOB Airborne. As with all of our Yound Men and Women in war zones, she'll be in my prayers for a safe return home. |

Its 100% ok to send her some PMAGs. She wont be able to ship them back home but she can carry them back home in her bags. One of the guys in my squad had a fullsize crossbow mailed to him while we were in Iraq. He had to leave it there when we came home. Send her as much stuff as you can. You really cant imagine how good it feels to get mail over there. |
| I am definitely going to be sending her as much as I can. What are some good basics to start sending now. I know she will have to be there a little bit before she figures out what she specifically wants, but theres got to be a few staples I can get her started with. |

Just thought I would follow up with some info on this previous post. My fist box I sent was a LARGE flat rate box. Cost was about $10. It contained, 12 Pmag, Couple of Bore Snake (.223 for M4, and 7.62 for M240) , little plastic muzzle covers, Rubber Magpuls, 1 and 2 inch paint brushes (weapons cleaning) SOG Seal Pup Elite Combat Knife, other misc. cleaning gear. 2nd box, I sent a Nikon Cool Pix camera, 2, M9 magazines (Beretta), Candy, drink mix pouches for bottled water and misc other goodies. Both boxes made it to him in about 3 and a half weeks. He said there was no problems with what they contained. Others have said, that any weapons items sent over, cannot be mailed back to the states once their tour is over. They can however, BRING those items back with them. Hope this helps. Tell your daughter that we appreciate her service to our country. Tell her to keep her head down and be safe. She'll be in our prayers as well. AK_Zeke |
