Y'all were great when I needed a router a bit ago, so I'm hoping you can help me out with this too! I currently have an Anker 525 Nano 100 watt charging station. It has two USB-C and two USB-A ports that share that 100 watts, and three 3 prong AC plugs in the back that can support 1000 watts across the three of them. The problem is that the USB side of things has failed six months into using it. All the DC outputs are completely dead, so now it's just a fancy extension cord. I have tried several other Anker products, and none of them were great for my needs. What I really want is as follows: 4-6 USB ports total, with at least 100-140 watt output. 2 or more AC ports, preferably accessible from the front, top, or sides of the charger. NO built in retractable USB cables, that shit's retarded. Able to output full USB wattage for at least two hours without throttling due to overheating. Active heat management is perfectly acceptable. So, does such a thing exist from a reputable manufacturer? I sure can't find it if it does.

Something like this? Just a surge protector with USB. 
You could always just plug in some higher power chargers in to this thing. |

That's odd. Anker is usually my go-to, because I've seen too many fires and don't trust cheap off-brand chargers, and I have never had issues with them. In fact, it sounds like I have something similar sitting on my desk right now, and it's been working for several years. I'd give Anker another shot, but perhaps skip the Nano since they may be making some compromises for portability. ETA: I currently have five of these around the house, and no issues, but they are only 65W. Anker 525 |

I've also tried the 240 watt charger, and while it was physically perfect, it throttled down for overheating after just 22 minutes at 140 watts of output. I might give this 140 watt version a try, and just use my external 140 watt Spigen charger in the AC outlet if I need a power boost. I dunno, it's just frustrating. |

I currently have a surge protector with USBs, but I have to reach down all the way to the floor to use it. I ain't getting any younger or more flexible or energetic.

Protecting privacy will come at a cost. Use encrypted email (Proton), messaging (Signal), and password manager (KeepassXC). Use a vetted VPN only!, Social media is mind poison.

Power banks to keep my laptop going, the power strips/charging hubs to recharge them, etc.  I'd expect them to be able to handle it for as much as they cost, but maybe I'm expecting too much (or noticing too much?).

Not a company I trust with anything anymore. |
