Looking for one for an "in-laws gift" this Christmas. Both sets are always asking for more pictures of the kids....
Anyway, all the ones I've seen so far work like "regular" USB devices, in that they have XXX MB of on-board memory, and you hook them up to your PC via USB cable and download photos to the frame. Do any of y'all have recommendations for good ones, and does anyone know if they make any that DON'T have on-board memory? I would rather they have a USB jack/port and just be able to throw a USB flash drive (full of pics) on there. That seems like a way better solution for digital picture frames anyway, because then they would be "instantly-upgradeable". Thanks in advance. |

I can see how that would be a nice addition (i.e. you can pull it right out of your digital camera and put it into the frame), but I was still kind of hoping to find one with a regular USB port (e.g. USB-A receptacle).
The brand isn't so important I have a Kodak. All the ones I have shopped for have slots for a variety of cards so the internal memory isn't needed. I have a 1G SD card with over 300 pictures it takes most of a day to cycle though them. I'll have to hunt some more after my lunch meeting. Thanks for the info so far! |
