Looking at picking up a digital drawing tablet for aspiring artist kid. First time user of such a device. Was looking for recommendations in the range of up to $100 or so.
Was looking at this one: Wacom Intuos Draw CTL490DB Digital Drawing and Graphics Tablet - New Version https://www.amazon.com/dp/B010LHRFWW?tag=vglnk-c102-20 |

I use to sell the Wacom tablets for Photoshop and digital camera users.
The "Intous" models could feel the pressure you put on the tablet, had more resolution* and could feel the angle of the pen. Which meant it was more like using traditional drawing tools. The cheap tablet had less resolution and could not feel the angle of the pen. Also the Intous came with some cool software. Also Intous had more choices in sizes, larger tablets easier to draw with out having to move the page and the ability to use two monitors. One for the tools and one for the art work. I was getting out of the photo biz as the Wacom monitors came out . Cintique or something like that. Those were BIG dollars. *by resolution the high dollar one could see 1028 bit and the cheap one 540 bit. Which equals smoother curves and finer detail. Now you know a little more than you did...well maybe???? |

So the Intuos model has the 1028 resolution and a model specific to comic and manga drawing which is what my kid is interested in. No prior experience in using a digital pad. Kid has used Photoshop with mouse and regular PS drawing tools.
Pad is 8.25"x6.7" in size. Next size up runs another $100. So for the money this is a good option to go with? |
