Just got home from two weeks up at the home place. Spent some time with family and some time out hunting. Didn't get a deer but got some rabbits and squirrels. Here's my first rabbit and some dinner (actually lunch) pics.  Savage MKII F with a Daisy Powerline 3-9x scope. Nothing fancy but it's a tack driver and gets the job done. First gun I ever bought myself, got it for $89 used from the pawn shop (Jim's in Fayetteville, NC if memory serves).  Getting the fire built up.  Skinned, gutted, and portioned. I split the back and loins from the thighs and then the sides and ribs with the shoulders. Ripped up coke can to the right has the bacon drippings from breakfast in it. The rabbit pieces were rubbed with them prior to grilling.  Good bed of coals for grilling over.  Savage MKII F with spare mags, Surefire E2D Exec Defender, CKRT My Tighe, with lunch all laid out on my bunk. 5 minutes per side over the fire and came out good, enjoyed from a tin plate in my lap, sitting next to the fire (built back up after cooking), with a side of Conn's and a Coke. |

Thanks all. Had been stationed in FL for the last 3 years and it was just too far to drive to get in on hunting season in OH. Finally made it back this year and had a blast. I forgot how much fun just tromping through the woods and fields with a 22 looking for small game was. I still missed out on shot gun season but I may make black powder in Jan. |
