(Possibly) more than you want to know about shallots... Shallots - Wikipedia www.shallot.com/en/index.html Some onion varieties can boost anti-cancer benefits, Cornell researchers say |
Persephone, consider this a permanent invitation to dinner whenever you can make it. You've made me smile plenty enough when I've read some of your posts, dinner is the least I could do! Problem is you've either got to get to Chicago or wait for my next trip to Alexandria to visit my sister's family. Search for my past dinner pic posts and let me know what you want for dinner. |
I mixed salt, garlic and pepper. eta - Ok... i tried being funny. Here's the dirt: Technically, I use a grinder with sea salt for the salt, ground black peppercorns, and fresh peeled garlic that I mince. They all get mixed together. I splash a little olive oil on the steak, and then rub the seasonings. Ditto for the other side of the steak. Cook immediately, and the oil does 2 jobs - first it keeps the rub on the meat, second it keeps it from sticking to the grill. |
And then he rubbed it... On his meat. & I got invited. I'll be over here.... in the corner... enjoying my 8th grade humor. ----->Seriously, thanks for the invite. I might just hold ya to it. ![]() |
It's very good. About 5 minutes into it, now. Posting from the laptop now since I'm out on the porch. |
The salad's already cold, but it's okay, I prefer them on the table at the same time. I don't have to get up once I sit down, and letting a steak sit for 10 minutes isn't always a bad thing. Juices tend to run out if you cut it as soon as you pull it off the grill. |
