Tonight's picture is a confluence of events.

My brother was grocery shopping when he came upon a sale on whole loins.  Loving to cut his own filets, he picked up two.

It also happens to be the birthday of the AK-47.

So, with that in mind....here's a meal he kind of threw together tonight at the last minute.

Dinner-

12 oz fresh cut filet mignon (seasoned with cracked black pepper, sea salt, and a bit of garlic), stuffed with backfin crab meat and wrapped with thick smokehouse bacon, cooked medium rare

New red potatoes with EVO, garlic, cracked black pepper, sea salt

Green peas with butter, sea salt and cracked black pepper

Backfin crab meat (some was left over) Cajun spiced

Accessories-

Polish PKMS Underfolder build by CMP Armory.  Kit produced at Factory 11 (RADOM) and handpicked by me at Knob Creek in 2006, 30 rd Polish mags with Wolf Military Classic ammo, and Chinese 100 rd. Drum with Golden Tiger

Polish Tokarev TT33 built at Factory 11 (RADOM) spare mags stoked with S&B commercial fmj

WW2 issue Fairbairn -Sykes Commando knife, Wilkinson production, hand ground blade

My brother's Magpul CTR stock from LaRue tactical (delivered on Friday) and LaRue bumpersticker...I think he's looking for brownie points.

Beer was Tilberg's Dutch Brown Ale.  Selected because it had a Hieronymus Bosch painting on the label!  It was actually pretty good.
One of these days I'll convince him to get his own account here...he seems to like using mine...

I never saw a sail on a loin.  Must be a N.C. thing.

It's pretty darn good actually.  About on par with Arrogant Bastard.  Much better than Newcastle.

Them taters look perfect.  I could eat a plate of those alone.  Nice work 9/10 - 10 if it was less Rooskie.

Stock's folded.  What if a zombie came and I needed to shoot?  I can't be fumbling with a safety when the undead are stumbling towards my brain pan....

Besides...

This is my safety, sir.
