Then set up for my weight and abilities. I don't do woops well past the third one. Scares the shit out of me when we come up to a bunch of them while on Michigan single-track. One It would be really cool to see the auto-lowering technology that's on some ADV bikes migrate over to the enduro/dual-sport arena w/o robbing performance. |

After neglecting my DR650 for a few years I've been riding it again lately. Today I got out and rode a bunch of gravel/dirt roads in the rural part of my county. I managed to find the unimproved creek crossing I came across a long time when I first started riding. Couldn't ride straight across, on the far side it dropped off to at least 2ft deep. I was able to skirt the edge to the left and cross downstream a bit. I probably rode for about three hours, my ass feels bruised now. Worst seat ever. I finally decided to upgrade the seat to one from ProCycle.

Watch instructional videos, they will help. Start with dirt bike specific basics, some of which you might have already learned from your previous riding experience. Watch everything you can. It's a great bike. Kybs are amazing forks. They work really well off road and the beta tuning is better than the Sherco tuning in my opinion. Those beta 300s have plenty of grunt down low and they have good ergos unless you are tall as shit. |

| I put a vortex in it as soon as I got it. I’ve never had a flameout and that fixes the jerky fueling issues too. I reduced my MPG slightly but not enough to worry about. I put a Cush hub rear wheel on (Warp9 elite) and that smoothed out the drivetrain even more than stock. It’s a great bike. |
