What package do you have and what do you pay per month?

We have Dish.  It's all too much money for what you really get, IMO...

$78/month for absolutely crappy TV selection....if it wasn't for the little one, I wouldn't have cable at all.  For every 10 mins of TV I watch, 9 of it is through Netflix for $8/month...

direct tv likes to play games with rates use it to your advantage. i haven't paid full price for movie chanels since day one. but it involves some effort.

call and reduce your package. within a week or 2 you will get a call offering an upgrade for usually 1/2 price or better for 3 months. take then cancell at the end of the "trial" you will soon get the offer again in a day or 2.

once a year i call and discuss lowering my package. i usually get a 6 month deal on my same plan cheaper than my current payments.

my monthly bill runs around 80-90 a month for the full package will all movie channels.

it takes some effort but for an average of 50-60.00 a month discount i think it's worth it.

I ditched them after the botched the install when I moved.  Blew both my tvs, left burn marks on other equipment and then tried to blame it on me.  The tech drilled through an electrical line and it made the cable hot.

fuck dish.... they have a habit of fucking you when you leave.

their SOP is to give you 30 days to return your reciever or they charge you 300.00. on cancellation they wait 31 days to ship the return box, then charge you the fee. once returned they then wait an additional 30 days to refund the charge. there are TONNNNNS of consumer complaints on them for this practice. it happened to by myself and my parents when we switched to directv.

$100.00 month, 3 TVs with whole house DVR and HD package, no move channels. I have to call about every 6 months and complain because they add $5.00 here and $5.00 dollars there.  I tell them to keep it at $100 and they usually adjust.

Used to pay $110/month. Billing was always inconsistent and they would sign us up channel packages that we never requested (NFL sports packages). Just canceled last week and made the switch to YouTube & Amazon Prime. Disconnect as soon as possible and do yourself a favor.

FYI - When I called to cancel, they offered to reduce the payments to $29/month for a year & a $200 Visa gift card.

Similar story with Dish involving my parents. They had consistent problems over a month span receiving signal until a tech fixed it properly. Mom called and bitched about that and also their package rate continuing to rise. They also had her on some kind direct withdrawal from their checking for the bill. They're elderly, do not own a computer and don't always catch increases and such. She claims she doesn't remember agreeing to paperless billing and asked instead to get a paper bill in the mail. They agreed to give her a measly $30 discount for her trouble.

Fast forward to this week when she gets a bill for 2 months plus a $30 late fee. She says they never received last months bill and I believe her.

Dish really does suck.

I think I was at like 120 a month with a couple pay channels like HBO and local channels.  I got rid of them after 12 years because the prices kept going up and they kept cutting channels.  Now I have a Roku box for most stuff I want to watch and made an antenna for local channels.  My monthly bill is now 8 bucks for Netflix, the rest on Roku is free and I never looked back.  I'm just not paying for tv anymore.

I have not watched directtv since the History channel became the 24 hour Pawn Stars channel 5 years ago, my wife for some reason does not want to cut the cord with directtv even though she spends 90% of her tv time watching a local channel that we could pick up with rabbit ears.

I want to get a Roku box and use an exterior antenna for the local channels but I am getting resistance from the wife.

I just left Direct TV after 15 years.  They ten dollar you to death.  I was paying just over $100.00 per month
plus another $89.00 per month for phone and internet (shitty ass internet).  I now have Prism, plus 12 gigs of
download for $87.00 a month.  3 tvs and whole home DVR.

We have Centruylink Prism now and it sucks balls. Boggs down the Internet connection and their integrated DSL box/wireless router can't go more than twenty feet. We are going back to Direct TV after the new year and going back to a regular DSL box so we can use a proper wireless router.

I can't get any other service here. Comcast has lines running a hundred yards from my house but tells me they are not serving folks on that side of the highway.

Fucking morons.
