This past Thursday I lost my wallet but didn't find out till Friday morning. Lost my DL, CHL, Medical Insurance cards my Discover card and about $70. I spent several hours Friday morning looking in my house and car till I gave up and started calling to notify all the places/agencies I needed to. I called Discover about noon and their customer service rep. said they'd get a new card in the mail. Saturday morning I found an envelope on my front porch with my new Discover card inside. They had sent it by overnight mail |
| When my mom was sick with cancer and I had to work with them they were a nightmare. They finally sent a letter saying I could not use the card even though I was POA.I then told them to cancel the account since it was useless, my mom's not gonna be able to hop in the car and drive over to target to pay for her prescriptions. They did not cancel it while she was living despite me requesting to close the account 3 tiems. After she passed away, it was still like hell to get the account cancelled, they kept asking to talk to her about it and I kept telling them you can't because she's dead. After Discover had the death certificate, they tried to get me to take over her account. I had to restrain from telling them to fuck off over the phone. |
| I use Discover for business purposes (travel and expense account) and its great. I had a card crack once about a gear ago checking into a hotel. Called them that evening and ordered a new one. From desk called me the next afternoon and said I had an overnight package waiting. It was my new card and there was no charge. In CA last week many places I visited didn't take Doscover, sor situations like that I whip out the AMEX. |

People still use Discover? If you had told me they had been out of business for 5 years I wouldn't have questioned your story. Why? I've used them for many years and had no issues at all. I had one and didn't have any issues with it/them. I just hadn't heard anything about Discover and I don't remember ever getting a credit card offer from them, and I get a TON of credit card offers. |
| Discover Card can kiss my ass. Ten years ago they jacked up my interest rates because "the balances on your non-Discover card is too high". WTF. I did nothing wrong, paid my bill on time, payed more than minimum, but because they don't like that I have another companies credit card they will raise my interst rate to 20%! Screw them. I closed the account and have had nothing to do with them since. |

Hello? They sent you a new card post haste because they want you to keep spending on it!
Guess what happens if you have a problem with a merchant? They tell you to go fuck yourself! Discover SUCKS DONKEY DICK. I bought an item from eBay, and had my discover card linked to my paypal. Seller was a fraud, and ebay agreed they were a fraud. I called discover to try to get the charge reversed, and they flat out told me "we don't reverse paypal charges", no matter what. I said, "oh really, you'll never get a dime from me. NEVER." I disputed the charge, refused to pay my bill, and it took MONTHS to get it sorted out. guess what? I never gave them a fucking dime. Then, my dad had a problem with something he bought from another big name website. They pulled some similar shit on him, even though he had been a good customer for over 20 years, and paid his bill in full every month. He cancelled his card right after getting it sorted out. Discover sucks. I wouldn't do business with them ever again. |

I'll be making my last Discover Payment next month, but will continue to keep it on hand for emergencies or times I don't want to expose my debit card to potential fraud. They've always been good to me. Late last year I called and requested a lower interest rate, as I was trying to pay it off. They cut the rate by about 75% on existing debt and 80% on future purchases. I've always paid on time, and they recognized that. Now, all that having been said, I'll take a 0 balance for the win, thankyouverymuch! |
| I had a problem with Discover card many years ago but they have been good to me for the last 10 years or so. The cashback bonus allowed me to purchase a pistol last year and the customer service has been pretty good to me. I like them overall. Better customer service on the charge card than I got from USAA. |
