View Quote Click To View Spoiler In Legends it was the sigil worn by Jaster Mareel the true leader of the Mandalorians on Concord Dawn. It's the symbol of the Journeyman Protectors. Not sure how much it's changed under Disney though. Sadly, I have not seen the episode yet. |

I had posted my thoughts in a throwaway, day of thread.
I got the impression they wanted to make S3 work without seeing BoBF, so a lot of the scenes seemed redundant, like going back to talk to the Armorer, and most of the dialogue with Greef Karga and Bo-Katan. Other than that no real complaints, action was good, Grogu was cute, plant pirate was pretty cringe. |

Excellent use of stop-motion with the IG scene. The effects team knows when to go retro and how make skin crawl.

So why was Mando able to one shot IG-11 in Season 1 Episode 1 but this episode the blaster just bounced off?

Mando premiere was a bit of a mess...too much crammed into too short a time, and for God sake let something actually stay dead in Star Wars. Not a disaster of an episode, but kinda meh. Disjointed.
I'm gonna be the odd man out and say I LOVED Swamp Thing pirate captain though. I actually giggled at how delightfully silly it was. Hope we see more of him. |

I'm waiting to see Grand Admiral Thrawn and Ezra Bridger. The last several episodes of the Mandalorian have had pieces of Star Wars: Rebels inserted into them and I'm hoping it's leading up to Thrawn.

In the scene where Mando sees the IG-11 statue, there's a bird on it's shoulder that flies off. It has a long tail, yes. But it looks to have a beaky face and not really owl-like. I think it was just a coincidence. I'm pretty sure that owl (morai?) is seen in the Ahsoka episode in season 2 though. When he first meets her in the forest. |

It made me think of something Lucas might have put in the cantina scene if he had todays tech in 1977. |

Makes you wonder how anybody ever got lost. Lots of people hiding out for decades in this universe. |

Once people have a planet, the person they are looking for is as good as found. Luke crashed on Dagabah, within walking distance of Yoda. Getting off planet is a big deal, often made a plot point. But moving around once on a planet? Barely an inconvenience. |

Wow, tonight's episode was really really nice. Great Fallout vibes from seeing Mandalore's cities in ruins, even moreso if you've watched Clone Wars and knew it wasn't always like that.
