Hell, even some B-listers turned down the lead. Sounds similar to Top Gun. Cruise wasn’t the top choice, but he made that movie and the movie made his career. I think Matthew Modine (IIRC) was the actor they wanted for Maverick but he declined because the movie glorified war or something. |
