I'm in my 50s, and I thank God every day that my mind and intuition, my cognitive capacity, and my ability to do pretty much anything (outside basic training ), has never been stronger. Yeah, I had some banger times in my 30s, but I'm way, way happier now if I'm intellectually honest with myself. I mean, the 30s were were stupid, epic, invincible fun, but personally I sure didn't have much insight and spiritual connection to the world back then, and more importantly, any sincere appreciation for where I had come from, for what I had, and for future opportunities and time that would exist to continue to grow. Not just professionally, but as a person - one who loves, as a loved one - as an ever developing soul. I kinda thought it was just gonna be "old man in the recliner chair with beer or bourbon" by 50.
IMO it's really SO thoroughly different for each of us, in our timelines. IMHO I guess the most we can hope and pray for is to be good and kind, show love, and work toward gaining an inner peace and outer satisfaction in life in general by doing "our thing, our style". Corny sounding maybe, but I feel there's a lot of truth in it. |

Pretty accurate. Age progression isn’t linear. It’s exponential.

I was having a great time until about 42…6yrs later, I do feel tired and old.

I'm 45 and had a bad case of gout a couple years ago. Took awhile to get it figured out and had a couple of instances where I couldn't walk for two weeks at a time. Nothing like being a fucking cripple to make you feel old. Honestly the last two years have made me rethink and change my views on life. I've come to a realization that I probably just have a few more years to make things happen.

45
No idea, haven’t felt old yet Early 20’s, you’re bulletproof and stress free. |
|
47; I still feel young but yeah that’s only part of the equation. I don’t know what my burn pit exposure will mean for me in the future but it’s driving me to do a thing now that I otherwise might have delayed for “some day”.

No longer feel young: When the early 20's Chick-fil-A girl tells you "I like the grey in your beard, it is just like my dad's".
I was 45ish. Definitely an ego destroyer. When actually feel old: Not yet but it is not far off. Best Years: 35-45 Enough wisdom and money, the peak of mental acuity and before any kind of physical decline. |

I’m 41. I no longer feel young. But often times in my head I’m young. I don’t feel old. Over the last 5 years I have had some epiphanies that have hit me hard and I thought holy shit I really am getting old. The first time I was probably 38. Family loaded up heading to the beach. In the middle of a 10 hour drive with everyone else asleep a thought hit me hard. The thought was how in the hell am I old enough to be taking my own family to the beach? Lol it’s like I hadn’t been to the beach since I was a kid or something. Which is not the case. Just an odd thought at the time that had a profound effect on how I looked at life. The next time was when we hired this cute young new HS graduate and I thought holy shit she is closer to my sons age than my own. I’m getting old lol. I embrace it. I’m happy in life. Living for my kids at this point. And doing my best to raise good men.

Age when you no longer feel young: Haven't gotten there, yet.
Age when you actually feel old: 70 now and just beginning to feel old. Best years of your life: 55 to current. I finally matured and have become financially stable. |

interesting thread -- IMO you have youth middle age old age varies person to person. i have seen 50 year olds that look and act freakin' ancient -- have seen 'youthful' 40 year olds as stated earlier -- its definitely not a linear progression. there are years it hits you MUCH harder than others at 45 i pretty much felt as good as i did at 30. but i have aged a LOT in my 50s. vision. anaerobic capacity. skin. joints - snap crackle pop, etc but gotta keep moving. a rolling stone gathers no moss... |

I’m 55, life is good, don’t feel old at all. Stay active. Move, run, lift heavy stuff. Stay engaged.
|
|
Somewhere around 35 things started healing slower. By mid 40's things hurt more. By 52, pains are stopping me for being as active.
That said, I retired at 45. Life is pretty fucking good. Invested in a beach house at 52 - still trying to get more out of it. Still trying to do stuff I wanted to do at 30, but body is resisting. |
|
I did alright into the mid 40s. I am pretty active with weights and running.
I turned 50 last month and really have noticed a difference over the past two years…so age 48-ish for me. |

Quoted: Survey says.. Age when you no longer feel young: 42 Age when you actually feel old: 52 Best years of your life: 36 View Quote Seems reasonable. Early 40s was when I first noticed things starting to ache a bit more and take longer to heal. Early 50s was when I noticed decreased stamina. And the reality is that those things began before they got to the point that I noticed them. I always laugh at guys in their 50s and older insisting that they are as fit and capable with the same potential as they were in their 20s |

Injuries took a lot out of me. A badly broken ankle in 2017 never worked right afterward, broken back a year and a half ago was even worse. Besides the physical damage I'm afraid to do things that I used to not think twice about.

I felt like an old man when I was 6. I think it had some thing to do with growing up in an environment full of toxic heavy metals.

I'm 46 and feel old now, hate to see what I feel like when I get another 10-15yrs on me.
Best years of my life were from 20-35. |
|
55 no longer young
57 now and not feeling really old yet I still run, go to the gym and have no issues fucking, so not old. I do yell at clouds though. |
|
48 and feel 28. I eat well, exercise regularly and I don't worry about things that I can't control. We only have a finite time on this earth and I'm not about to worry and stress about shit that doesn't improve my quality of life.

Meh
I’m in my late 50s and I am in better health than I was 10 years ago. I’m financially comfortable (not rich but doing OK). My kids are grown and self-sufficient so the wife and I travel and do things together on our own. I am eligible to retire and my employer knows that so they tend to just let me do my job without bothering me too much. Thanks to COVID and Millennials, I have the opportunity to telework from home three days a week and I come and go from the office as I please. I’ve got enough toys, don’t need any more stuff. My Father just passed away after 10 years of Dementia so that tremendous burden has been lifted from me. Honestly, I FEEL younger than I have since 29yo! |
|
I'm 53 and while "young" is certainly in the rear view mirror, I don't feel old.
|
|
“Best years” are subjective.
Some people have crappy youth and great experiences as they are older or the other way around. |
|
I was banging a massive amount of broads in my late 40's and early 50's. Good times.
|
|
Youth is full of expectations and optimism. Old age is when your just trying to survive.
|
|
I'm still young in my dreams. I don't mind dreaming these days.
|
|
It's all subjective and varies from person to person.
Age when you no longer feel young: I'm in my late 30s and no longer feel young. I've gone bald, my beard is ~25% gray, body aches and feel like I'm hungover most mornings. Age when you actually feel old: Haven't quite reached it, but I feel like I'm getting close(see above). Best years of your life: Sometime in my 20s. |
|
51. I hate getting older. I’ve abused my body and it hurts, but i still hit it hard and deal. Did a groundwork Wednesday and my back got burnt bad. Itches like hell.

I am 63 and get my 2-3 miles in everyday, lift 3 days a week and work on my 100 acres as well as having a full time job until last year. Now work part time. 4-5 hrs during the summer and 5-6 hrs during fb season, then 1-4 hrs until mowing time rolls around again.
Only time I feel old is when I am around my other workers and the one that is close to me in age is 41. Am I as strong as I once was, no. As fast on my runs as I once was no, but I don’t plan on ever slowing down until I reach the point when I do decide I am old. Numbers don’t mean much to our family. My grandfather on my white side got bucked of a horse at 87 so maybe I have his good .genes. |

It is a sliding scale based upon my present age .
Took a bit of a hit when I had a quint heart bypass when I was 45. I am so old I can hardly fool even myself when I say age is just a number. Oh well. |

69+ here. I'm told that I'm still strong enough to tear ligaments. I built a new flatty trailer last winter from scratch by myself. We've taken three large/long trips this year with one more big one on the books for this year. I mow, haul, repair and more. Fortunately I still get up around 5am and knock off about noon. More than enough time to get everything done. Medicare is outstanding and I'm blessed to have a great Internist that gets me where I need to be. Had a horrible shoulder that was fixed with a steroid emulsion about a month ago. That let me sleep through the nights which helps a bunch.
Youth? Pretty much over rated if you look at growing old as the goal. I know many that have left us too soon. Very few from medical issues. Most were from being stupid. |

Pretty sure it'd be when you wake up in bed with just a piss hardon instead of your woman snuggling up against you hardon

I got divorced right about my 50th birthday. The pussy was flowing.
