Curious on opinions here. Our house interior is currently one color on walls and ceilings. I've noticed some people are adamant this is the best color scheme, while other people insist on a white ceiling.

I usually suggest tinting the ceiling white at 10% of the wall color formula.

White with a stomp pattern that I dislike but don't want to deal with the mess of removing it.

I heat with wood.
Wouldn't exactly call any of the ceilings "white". |
|
Only three, both bathrooms and one bedroom. Everything else is wood as it should be in a country home.

I've lived in close to 20 houses. Every ceiling in every room in every house was white.

White by design. Artisan smearing, stains, and spots by lacrosse season, kids, bugs, pets, ....

All except the master bedroom. I wanted something a bit different in that room. I painted that ceiling a medium blue. I stayed at a hotel with a blue ceiling in New Orleans and thought it looked cool.

White, but thinking of ripping the sheet rock out of two bedrooms walls and ceiling and going with wood

|
White everywhere except my office and the gun room. Those are dark gray walls and ceiling. I found it definitely affects your choice of lighting to have anything other than white

Yes, other than the home theater room, but that serves a specific purpose.

No. Otherwise there’s no contrast on the 9 layer dental crown molding that’s white.
Bedroom ceiling is wall paper. And it’s fabulous. |
|
Yep. That's been pretty standard in any house I've lived in. White or tongue and groove wood.
I can see in one of the bedrooms that the walls and ceiling were pepto-bismol pink at one time before some previous owner repainted. |

our living room has a white ceiling with FDE colored walls.
hardwood floor is about the shade of walnut. |

Last couple houses we built, Sherwin Williams Divine White, all interior walls and ceilings.

Yup and had to pay extra for it.
New builds spray the walls/ceilings nowdays. Anything to save a buck. |

Ceiling white paint. Not only cheaper but also less splatter.
I used to paint ceilings in wall color, but hated painting ceilings every time she wanted walls a different color. |
|
|
Yes, the ceilings are white and the walls painted other colors.
The ceiling in the home theater is painted black, the sun room and much of the basement are wood slat ceilings. |
