The Dem power brokers believed that all they had to do was make Trump lose. They mobilized the legal system and the media against him, while simultaneously installing "low risk" candidates. But the legal efforts faltered, the media efforts were fruitless, and their "safe" candidates turned out to have liabilities with no offsetting positives.

So instead of changing tack, they doubled down. They tried to hide Joe's decline, then installed Harris and picked Walz. They wanted candidates that undecideds wouldn't vote against, only they offered no reason to vote *for* them either. It was all "Orange man bad" and very little "Brown woman/Midwest Dad good". And that's what killed them. There was no reason for the non-leftist Democrat base to vote for her. So they didn't.

Clay County has 2 colleges and went Democrat by less than 0.5% in 2024.

St. Louis County includes Duluth which is the 5th largest city in MN. Between the urban population, a state college, what used to be a union base with mining companies, and hippies/yuppies retiring to their cabins in the area it is a solid Democrat stronghold.

Cook County is also solid blue but it only has a population of around 7,000 people. It has a relatively larger Native American population and also a retirement destination for hippies.
It is the only place that I've seen a "abortion is health care" rally in Minnesota. Which was all white women, many of them teenagers and early twenties.

This.  The Democrats separate people into groups.  They decided that white men wouldn't vote for Harris, so they needed to find a caricature of someone white men would like.

The only thing Walz and Harris have in common: they were both DEI hires who underperformed.

Depends on what OP means by "worst"?

Winning/Losing their respective election?

Being competent/incompetent at furthering their agendas?

Being honest/dishonest?

Spiro Agnew has been mentioned. But what about LBJ who should be counted as pretty bad for saddling the US with some horrible social welfare burdens and setting us up for racial division.

While that may be true, LBJ was a big help to
New York Catholic JFK in winning the 1962 Presidential

many years and knew how to get things done in Washington.

That's what I thought as well.  But IIRC one of the gimmicks politicians plays is to put their relatives and friends into "consulting" firms that get a cut of the $$.   Thus the $1B spent is just the visible part of the payola scheme.

Twin Cities talk radio just after Walz was announced had theories that the Dems feared MN would flip red this election.  Even with Walz, Trump flipped 4 counties that he did not get in 16 or 20.

Clay - Concordia College in Moorhead.  Cranks out a lot of libs.  I know this well, my brother, sister, mom, 2 aunts, 2 cousins, and 1/3 of my graduating class attended there.
St. Louis - UMD, you've got the old school union industry presence, lots of medical, and the traditional MN hippies who were also considered leftist back when MN was a lot more moderate (DFL).

I saw a video recently that basically said the problem with Walz is they dressed him up to LARP as a man.

Which is why he seemed so out of his element.

He is male but he's not and has never been a man's man.  So having him dress up like one to somehow dupe the male voter was a huge misstep.

Walz was the embodiment of someone picked right from today’s TV/internet commercials…few if any straight white males are allowed, if they are present they are normally portrayed as dumbasses.

With Walz you have an obvious dumbass, trying too hard to come off as a normal straight white guy…and failing because the only thing that we can be sure of is that he is indeed a white guy.  Probably not straight, definitely not normal.

At least now he has plenty of time to go back to his important work of making sure the boys bathrooms have free tampons in them, and hanging out with his weirdo friends.

Back 2020, I'm pretty sure it was up even before the 2020 riots, I was driving near Bemidji and saw a big billboard of a guy with his head stuck up his ass, and a caption that said something like trying to see it from Tim Walz point of view. I almost went off the road laughing. I can not stress enough to people not from around here how much the majority of Minnesota HATES Tim Walz. Every state has a big city or two that heavily weights elections. Minnesota is really, really fucked in that department. If you don't live within a 20 mile radius of Minneapolis, the politicians really do not give two shits what you think.

I’m just going to ask one question?

Can anyone remember without googling it in 2016? Who is Hillary’s running mate?

I saw Mike Pence in Sarasota, Florida at the Hyatt hotel to a packed room standing only. Maybe 400 or 500 people.

Whoever the hell, Hillary ran with could draw 30. That was actual numbers is 30.
