I shoot a lot by myself and do other retarded things that may be entertaining to watch later. I shot with a couple guys that were using one at a 3 gun and they said they loved theirs. Now I think I need one.
Do I??? And if so, which one? Feel free to post any videos you have of you using yours or just comment on why you like what you have or why you think it's a complete waste of money. |

only thing is the field of view
I have many videos on you tube if you want to check them out Username mikegigabyte The thing is lets say you set the camera 8 feet away on video it will look like 15 feet away so what you thought would be the main focus on screen it wont be, it will be very far away and if your cheap like me and dont have the newer model that can accept a lcd screen its hard to know where its aiming at most of the time but if you are hard core sports, rough on your cameras go pro is perfect use the head strap and get those cool first person shooting videos, go pro is great for things like that does not work well in low light, if your in noisy enviroments like riding motorcycles its hard to tell when its on, off or recoding all you have is a quiet beep, and a flashing red light but nothing is as bad as moving the camera from the mount to see if the red light is flashing or thinking your recording when its either automatically turned off or you actually stop it recording ive lost alot of footage this way I see the newer models look to have a bluetooth remote of some sort, not sure what it does If you just want high quailty videos I use a inexpensive samsung sh100 it films in high def and alot of my newer you tube videos are with that camera too at least it can zoom in, and has a screen easily take still images too |

Do you Open Carry while Rollerblading? If the answer is Yes to that question, you need a GoPro. I live in the country. I have to carry my rollerblades. I carry them concealed though. I don't want to get fucked with by the SD. I open carry my pistol though. They don't care about that, but they'd jack me up if they saw my fuscia blades. |
| depends how you plan on mounting it, I have both a gopro and a contour. the gopro is my go to for a lot of things, any water sport since it comes with a housing. easily mounts to handlebars on bicycles or motorcycles. also mounts easily to helmet of all shapes and sizes. with that said however the gopro does not mount very cleanly to earmuffs of a picatinny rail. the contour mounts very well to earmuffs and contour actually makes a picatinny mount for their camera. for shooting I use the contour a lot and the gopro very little. I guess the short answer is consider how you're going to mount it then go from there. |

I use one on an RC plane. It takes fantastic videos. A plug into the TV out sends that signal to a transmitter that links to a receiver on the ground. I see what the Gopro sees in goggles and fly the plane through the goggles.
I love the Gopro. Next is to get the GP housing meant for underwater use, flat front, and take it diving in the Caribbean. |

I have a Contour camera and love it. It's easy to use and yes....has been dropped a time or two! Doh! Still works great. The GoPro seems to bulky and does not lend itself to attaching to earmuffs or even a rifle without sticking out like a sore thumb. I recently ran my Contour during a rifle instructor class and when mounted on my rifle, it looked like a flashlight. Actually, several other instructors thought it was a flashlight until I told them what it was.
I would not rely on the Contour picatinny rail mount. Go to Youtube and search for Strikemark. The sell a much better rail mount which is what I used to mount my Contour on my rifle. This is a short video with the camera mounted on my ear protection. http://youtu.be/rsYrP76QcM0 The second one is with it mounted on my rifle. http://youtu.be/JZo73gDNs_c |

Here is a thread I have been following on a very small key fob high-def camera used by some in the RC airplane community. The latest version even has a video out capability that some are using to do first-person flying of their aircraft. It only runs about 40 bucks. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1556994 |

Yeah, I was still fiddling around with it when I did those videos. I received my Contour a day or two before I headed off to the class, so I wasn't totally familiar with the operation. |

| Got a Go Pro Hero 2 a couple months ago for motocross but also use it when I fish and do other things. Also got the suction cup mount and the chest mount. The price was a little steep but I think it was a good investment. The quality is really good too. I run it on 1080p and get like 1 hour out of the battery. |

Yes you should get one... I have Gopro2. I am not familar with with the Contour. I am curious if folks are partial to the one the have or do you have experience with both? And if both what makes the Contour better? To me at least (Still in the shopping stage) the Contour has better mounting options for me than the GP, |
