I've seen FiFi fly over twice.  Can't imagine how cool it would be to see them both at the same time.

Ditto this^

I've seen FIFI fly a number of times but I haven't yet seen Doc.
I was hoping they'd bring her out west this Fall but it doesn't look like that'll happen this year.

Most of our airworthy Warbirds are either out on tour or parked during the summer months.
The air is so hot and thin

Fantastic,

They should bring them over here for a tour, the reception would be phenomenal

If the troll shows up and ruins this thread I'll be pissed.    Saying something about these weapons of war shouldn't have been created, etc.  etc.     That ruined the other B-29 thread.

Theyve been saying that for years. I very seriously doubt we will ever see a B-36 fly again.

I wouldnt think Brits would be as interested in the B-29.

My grandfather flew FiFi for years with the CAF. He was a B29 pilot in Korea. I also rode in it, once, when my mom was pregnant with me. My dad flew it for a minute as well.

A B-17 would definitely bring a tear to some eyes.

Was Fertile Myrtle scrapped after 'Last Flight of Noah's Ark'? It was an airworthy Navy N2B. I think they crashed a derelict B-29 airframe from 29 Palms for the crash scene but used Myrtle for the takeoff and flight scenes.

Our community pretty much funded Fifi being maintained in the years after it was initially 'restored'. Museum was built around it, was happy days and a cool piece of West Texas. Then, the director of the museum decides his wife wants to live in Dallas, instead of Midland, and they take Fifi and all the good planes with them. Basically looted the local museum in preference to the one out east. They lost 6 figures worth of fundings and grants that were in process when they did it.

To be quite fair, great cause and I love seeing these fly, but fuck the Confederate, oops I mean Commemorative Airforce for pulling that crap on it's home community. They don't even bother to fly it back here for our yearly airshow anymore.
