Quoted: I've always wondered, so I guess this is the place to ask: why do folks today go with the minivan over a similar SUV? And congrats! The power sliding doors are one big thing. And you can get up from your seat in the front, walk to the back and bust your kids' tail if necessary. |

We were going for a Tahoe or Suburban, but 30+ MPG and easier to get in and out of the back seat (Think how many times you will be getting in and out, strapping kids in and out of carseats) made the case for us. |

Is 30+mpg realistic? My mom has an Odyssey and she gets around 24mpg. It's an '05 IIRC. |

I did everything I could to talk the wife into her fourth minivan. Unfortunately, now that the kids are grown, she wasn't having any part of it. She got a '12 Mazda CX9. I don't like it near as well as the mini vans for trips to the farm, hunting, hauling friends or extended family, etc.
For most of our needs, past and present, I don't think there's a better vehicle out there than a good mini van. |

Congrats on the kids, but seriously bro - a minivan? Does it come with a man purse or did you have to buy that separately? I was worried about "Man Cards" when I was in my 20's... At 43, I worry more about taking care of my family, where my hair is going, Why things hurt that didn't used to hurt.... I can care less about the "Man Card" |
