So, I had to buy a new Dremel (my cordless one died) to work on my plane, I got the 4000. Question is, do you have to hang it to use the flex shaft? Or can I lay it on something, just asking before I rig up some white trashy hanger in my dining area.

Any metal clothes hanger will make for a pretty good S hook, even if it's a plastic bodied hanger. Also, don't lay it in your lap, you need those cooling vents clear. |

If it's laying down, it will rock/bounce because of windup in the shaft. Hanging it up means it just twists in the wind instead. No drama results. |
