actually...i was a bit mislead by the link....i kept leading them and missed every time. |
| well if you are ever out in Colorado between November and February I'll take you out for ducks and geese. Best advise I can give you is find a lease/club to join and flat out tell everyone that you have no idea what you are doing. Most of the old guys love to teach noobs who want to learn. |
Okay, before you get all twisted up, the Hometown section of ar15.com for NY & NJ includes all of those from those states. ar15.com/forums/forum.html?b=8&f=9 So yeah, I was actually trying to be helpful there and telling you that you could find other people from your area on ARFCOM and that you could then go somewhere away from LI to hunt ducks, but I see you'd rather be pissy. |
umm i was not being pissy, I dont know what you thought I was trying to say.I was taking your advice seriously, I read online that long island (where i live) has alot of places to hunt ducks, and it would be better to ask in the hometown section. Just wanted to get a fast reply here about duck hunting in general |
Are you serious? Dude I'm sorry, I'll punch the card right here, I thought you were being sarcastic! I guess that's what a night of ARFCOM does to a man. I knew they only allowed hunting with a shotgun in the southern zone, but I thought hunting fowl on LI was illegal and that deer hunting was left up to game control, at least that's what I had heard, must be wrong, my bad! |
dont worry about it, no problem. I know how people can get on here sometimes. Maybe you right about fowl hungting on LI, This is what I read, I hope its up to date because if it is not I am not going to be doing any duck hunting, haha.
from here www.dec.state.ny.us/website/dfwmr/wma/lihunt.htm#waterfowl |
Well, I guess Suffolk is the good county on the Island then, it seems that they do allow a lot of sportsmen opportunities still. I knew that Nassau was blacked out, but its good to see that Westchester and Suffolk are still viable hunting grounds. The NYSDEC site says that the Long Island zone is Long Island Zone - That area consisting of Nassau and Suffolk counties and their tidal waters, and that area of Westchester County and its tidal waters southeast of Interstate Route 95. The seasons are a little shorter, but still open enough. One important thing about duck hunting is identifying what duck it is before you shoot it, because of the way the seasons go back and forth. |

www.duckhunter.net/ The refuge gang forum there is great. I have been there since it's beginning. if you hunt waterfowl join the fun. even if you don't join and post, you can learn a lot just by reading |
