do you sometimes run up the bid just to screw with people? |
|
That is a sleasy thing to do, but sometimes I feel wronged, and the jackasses deserve it. Of course the truth is if they are the high bidder they are not paying anymore than they were willing to pay, therefore are not being ripped off. I have 100% positive feedback and have never won a bid that I didn't pay for, and there is the chance that while runnign the bid up you may exceed the jackasses high bid and be stuck paying more than you wanted to. |
i never bid more than i am willing to pay. i just had a few auctions i knew i wasn't ging to win and some dick poped in at the last second and outbid me. so i ran it up o his max bid. |

A few years back I was trying to purchase a certain item that wasn't always available on eBay (maybe 2 per month showed up). This same guy bought every-single-damn-one of them, every time. I eventually figured out his high bid was $200. Oft times the only bidders were the two of us. I wasn't about to spend over two hundred but I wasn't going to let him have it for less than I was willing to pay. So, even though I didn't jack up the bid higher than I was willing to pay, I never failed to place my $120 bid. |
Not saying I've ever done this. But "if" you accidentally forget to decimal place in your $100.00 bid you can find out his max bid. Then retract said bid with the lame excuse that you bid the wrong amount. Then bid just under his high bid to make him pay his max bid. Again I've never done this just was thinking.

| I have a funny story about ebay. This took place many years ago when ebay was fairly new, and the snipe bidding was pretty rare. Anyway, my mother wanted to expand her fine china and add a few more place settings to it, so my dad did what any man would do; find it used for less on ebay. Why pay 10X more for new. Anyway, he found exactly what he was looking for, and sniped it at the last second, winning the auction. Later that night, he got an email from the person who was the highest bidder right before he sniped the auction. The email said how my dad was such a dick, and a horrible person, and that bidding at the last second is cowardly and evil, and how my dad had ruined this guys wife's life ect. Just going on and on bitching and moaning how it wasn't fair, and my dad should sell it to him for what his high bid was (must have been a dummycrat). My dad just sent an email back telling him that he was the ass who let his wife down, and that if it was such a huge deal, then he should have had a higher bid. I wish I had a copy of those emails, they were friggin funny. |
Your dad is awesome hahaha. |
