I have been on ebay for a few months, and have sold about 20 items.  Today i recieve a message saying my account is suspended because they believe i am a threat to the ebay community.  I cannot get a response about this from ebay despite numerous emails.  I have 100% positive feedback, have paid for all my items purchased, shipped all items in a timely manner properly packaged, and have read and reread the buyer and seller rules and am unable to find anything i have done wrong.

What other reasons can i be banned for, and how do i get back on?!?!?

here is the email sent to me:

We regret to inform you that your eBay account has been suspended due to concerns we have for the safety and integrity of the eBay community.

Per Section 9 of the eBay User Agreement, we may immediately issue a warning, temporarily suspend, indefinitely suspend or terminate your membership and refuse to provide our services to you if we believe that your actions may cause financial loss or legal liability for you, our users or us. We may also take these actions if we are unable to verify or authenticate any information you provide to us.

Due to the suspension of this account, please be advised you are prohibited from using eBay in any way including registering a new account.

Please note that any seller fees due to eBay will immediately become due and payable. eBay will charge any amounts you have not previously disputed to the billing method currently on file.

Regards,

Safeharbor Department
eBay, Inc.

What type of items did you sell on ebay? What is your user name?

Did you actually log on to see if you were in fact banned? It could be a spam.

1. What have you sold in the past? Name them all.
2. Have you sent an email asking for more details?

did they actually lock it or is it spam?

they could have entered the wrong name to block.

have you actually tried to log in to ebay?  and NOT through a link in the email.

I found out i was banned when i tried logging on to view expired auctions.

I buy and sell printing equipment and have recently begun selling on ebay.  I have heard how ruthless ebay is with crossing i's and dotting t's so i followed them exactly.

I am not giving my username, less some lurking tool send this to ebay.  call me paranoid.

You got banned for selling printing equipment? That's got to be the lamest reason I've ever heard. Have you tried to jump on that livechat help thing they have so you can speak to one of the operators "in person"?

I am an honest person.

I searched ebay by my username and it says i am no longer registered.   I sold a bunch of items that ended saturday and am having a hell of a time contacting the buyers.  fortunately, the two who actually paid i already have contacted by phone.  I had items selling for between $50.00 to $10,000.  maybe they banned me for selling a big item with no experience?? Like i have never sold or shipped a press before

very strange.  Your past transactions only showed 4 auctions, and nothing looked even remotely 'bannable' in those.  Like others have said, I would call them up.  Maybe it was an error?

try live chat,
if they banned you for some bullshit reason i would be very pissed, with a $10,000 sale!

none of your auction mention ar15 in anyway did they?

We need your user name, post it like this, "u*se*r*n;am*e".  So the bots cant use it.

What did they tell you when you called?

hehe...nothing remotely related to weapons....although i would say a printing press is a little more dangerous in the hands of someone like the NYT!

i am on the phone.....on hold.....taking bets on hold duration...

Most probably you got spammed / phished ...

AND someone else used your account and bogusly sold something and that is why YOUR ACCOUNT is LOCKED.. not you .. but your account.

In a previous email that was sent to you by SOMEONE, WITHOUT CLICKING on the LINKS... Point at the links and in the status line at the bottom of the window do they look correct ( .COM )or end in a NON-EXPECTED .xxx (IE: .CZ or something the like and not .COM) ?

IF that is what happened you do need to contact eBay.

Use the phone...

i really have not been phished.  I really am banned.  search for print equiped and you will see.

Phone contact is a joke, i sat for almost 2 hours on hold before my phone died.  I also found some other numbers that did the same thing.

emptied all accounts.  I have a separate Paypal/Ebay checking account due to the rumors of said entities emptying money when things go bad.  only a fool has a paypal account linked to a primary checking account.

I have my own Ebay account rep ( 1 800 # ) but you have to be a powerseller to call them / use it or I would pass it on to you.

There are so many Ebay scams out there it's hard to keep track.  Some of them are damn good at imitating a real Ebay commo.  You need to check your in "my Ebay".  The real commos will be there.  It takes a little doing, but Ebay live help online is quite good.  Usually takes me 15-20 minutes of wait time, then you can chat by text.

I do a lot on Ebay, so I'm probably a good target for the scammers.  I had my account hijacked twice in the past month.  Ebay got me squared away both times.  Ended up having to change email and ebay passwords.

Ebay told me that scammers can use your email as a backdoor into your ebay account.

Good luck!

Is it possible to be hijacked, and ebay bans you without explaining it because they detected it?  I still have not received any comm besides previously sent notification.

I do sign onto ebay from a ton of locations; laptop, office, my house, moms, friends etc.   Is it possible they are just idiots and have an ip logger thats kicks you for multiple login locations??

Online "live chat" said "go f@@@ yourself, send an e-mail"   I am at a loss for what else to do.

All phone numbers i have tracked all send me to an eternal loop hold.   The one operator i talked to said all suspensions are handled through email. aaaaarrrrgghhhhh

most likely this is a scam.  I would go to EBAY, log on and report it.  Do not click on any links.

i forward all emails recieved from paypal or ebay to [email protected],
i have been selling for about a year, and have had several items jerked out for "violations of policy"
(they do not like items listed with "M14" listed in the title, go figure)
each time i sent an email asking why and always got a reply to my question, but not a real answer,
go figure,

do you think someone used one of your presses to print counterfiet??

I went under his feedback and it shows:

"no longer a registered member"

Can't do much to help--however, if you get another e-mail and re-register, you only had 4 feedbacks--not a huge loss.   Did you pay the ebay seller fees?  They might have dropped you if they couldn't collect their cut?

I just went thru thr completed auctions under printing equipment to find your user ID.  You have only sold 2 items, and bought 2 items.  Nothing to send up any alarms.  My guess is someone phished or hacked your acct.  They scammed someone or tried to , and you got caught up in it.  Just go thru the official emails and what not, you should be reinstated shortly

Sounds like someone is phishing.... I'll bet you can login to you account nornally. and the links in that email take you to a fake eBay page asking for all kinds of information that eBay would never ask for. CC #s, PINs, etc.

No Expert

ETA:

I read that he's really banned, but wonder if it's not from an attack on the account by someone else that hijacked it and did something.

My nephew had his ebay (and subsequent paypal) accounts hacked and that was a mess with the bank.

Ummm..i did, but i will say it again......printing equipment.......presses, paper folders, paper joggers, bindery equipment, etc.   I have had ZERO negative communication with a buyer or potentiasl buyer.

My only thought is that I was bannned for putting eight listings on at once with high value on some, and not having enough feedback?  I can find no mention of that situation in the Ebay user agreement except for section 9, the "vagueness clause"
