They are outragous on their fees now. I listed two items that both sold for $300 each. My bill from ebay was $30. So after shipping and everything, I feel raped.

How hard would it be to start a company to compete with ebay? They have a good system, but it is getting expensive since they have no competition. It is hurting all the home business folks. Now that shipping is on the rise, this is crazy.

Dont think it would be hard, Make fees so small and just advertise on the site. Charge like 2%

Ive seen people try and fail.
You would have to look very similar to ebay and everything would have to work about the same way as ebay. Just have lower fees. Nobody wants to take the time out to learn a new system.
Ive actually seen people who said they were going to compete with ebay, and you could'ent  navagate pass the first damn page on there web site.

eBay sucks, and is antigun-- no matter what they tried to imply at SHOT-- so just quit using them. EE is a better place for us anyway.

I fing HATE eBay and dealing with all of the retarded buyers.  I used to work for a company that sold used cell phones.  Some of the phones worked, some didn't.  Everything that was wrong with them was listed in the description with pictures.  If the phone was non functional, it was listed as-is and with big bold letters stating that the phone did not work.  Sure as shit, someone would buy it, get it, then I'd get nasty emails from them complaining how the phone was broken and they wanted their money back.  Stupid fuckin assholes never bothered to read the auction add.  Of course my boss would refund their money and pay to have it shipped back.  We are talking about phones that sold for a dollar.  Needless to say that I quit that company because I could not deal with the morons daily.

I wish the arfcom forum code was open sourced. If it were, alot of us talented folks could work on making the EE an auction format.

Actually, I wish the forum code were open sourced for ALOT of reasons. Oh well.
