Has anybody else encountered sellers on the EE that do not leave feedback until you as the buyer have received the product and left feedback for them first? When I sell something I tend to leave feedback the moment I have gotten the payment. That means as soon as I get the paypal or as soon as the check or MO clears the bank. Am I the only on that thinks that you have met your end of the bargain as soon as you have paid? Why are these people holding out? |

The new feedback system only made it easier for those who were going to leave feedback anyways. You see my feedback? I should easily have 3x that. In fact, I did a deal a few weeks back where the seller sent me an IM while the item was in transit to me asking me to leave feedback for him. I did. Did the guy leave it for me? NOPE.

I forget to. If the other guy reminds me by saying he left feedback for me, I'll be sure to return the favor if you will. Not getting feedback is not the end of the world for me. If a guy has a low feedback and ask for it (to build it), or leaves it for me, I'll do the same. If not, life goes on.
I do not leave feedback till the buyer has returned an IM saying the item was received, and everything if good to go. |

Better to wait until it's all done with IMO... as long as you leave feedback eventually Look what happened to the recent guy that sold the upper to some douchefaggot that tried to scam him. The shitbag would have had a +1 since he paid. http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_1_5/1340576_.html |

"My wife saw what I bought and got pissed that I spent money without asking her. Can I have my money back?" How would you have felt if you gave this guy good feedback before he pulled this? I had to deal with that on ebay once. I told the guy to pound sand and he filed a complaint with ebay claiming I never sent him the item. ![]() |

Not that it went badly, but I have yet to get any feedback despite an IM to the seller after receiving the item notifying him of that and of my satisfaction––as well as the fact that I left feedback for him, IIRC. Oh well. I don't do EE deals often anyway. I think this was my second ever, and the first since the new feedback system. Not going to have any heartache over it or anything. |

Two sides to the transaction. Payment, and delivery of goods. As soon as you provide payment in the agreed upon manner, you've done your part. |

I never leave feedback. Couldn't care less. If I buy or sell something on EE, it's not because I want to "rate" someone.
Well it looks like 13 folks are way more considerate to you than you are to them. Whoopie fucking doo. The whole point of the feedback system is to help others know that the person they're dealing with has been trustworthy in the past. |
| I view the transaction in 2 parts. First part is the buyer's obligation to pay the seller. The second is the seller's obligation to deliever the goods. As a seller, when I receive payment, I leave feedback. As a buyer, when I receive my goods, I leave feedback. The "problems" in the EE are usually painfully obvious- slow payment, lack of communication, condition of the goods not as advertised, etc. |

Thanks for the heads-up Cletus. Damn, I wish EE had a blocked buyer feature.....Oh well, I guess the ignore button would work just as well. |

As a seller, when I receive payment feedback is left.
As a buyer, if the seller leaves no feedback he/she gets none from me. My feedback should probably be a lot more than it is now, but following my own guidelines it is not. I don't care either way anymore, as it is respectful enough for me to be considered GTG by anyone's standards. |

I never leave feedback for my buyers until they receive the item I was selling and they tell me everything is good to go and they are happy with it. By leaving positive feedback before this point you are leaving yourself wide open to shady buyers wanting to play games and try to tell you crap like "the stock wasn't as advertised, I found a scratch on it and I would like $50 back." And I don't leave feedback until I receive feedback. Simply because most people don't leave feedback and I got tired of boosting peoples rating while getting nothing in return. |

| The deal isn't over until you let me know you got it, everything is okay, and you are happy. Just because you pay doesn't mean you won't be a pain in the ass because the pictured scratch is 3/8 inch and not 1/4 inch so you want me to pay return shipping, plus interest, plus the overdraft fees from you not being able to afford it. |

When I receive an item and am pleased with the item and transaction I email the seller stating such as well as mentioning I left positive feedback. For the past three months or so this has been my practice and I have yet to receive a positive feedback for my efforts. From now on I won't leave feedback for a seller until after I email him saying I'm happy with everything and he leaves feedback for me. And yes, I'll be up front about it. |

He said he wouldn't buy from me because I won't leave feedback. i can understand where he is coming from. you see, if you had something to sell, especially firearm related and possibly expensive, the first thing i'd take into consideration is ovbiously your membership date and post count. would i suspect i'd have an issue sending you several bills for something you are selling on the net with pictures that could possibly be for someone else's property? probably not. but, to the point, if you saw that same item and i was selling it. you think you'd feel just as safe? for some of the members here, who have not been for 11+ years and an average of 14+ posts a day, feedback, especially on higher valued items is important. if you had just a couple posts over a few year span, but with ee feedback that is respectable, i would not hesitate to buy. what's so difficult to understand about that? |

I use tracking information for my transactions so I know if they have received the item before they leave me feedback. After I have confirmed the item is received I leave them an IM to let them know I would like positive feedback as well. |

You may not want to "rate" someone, which your not doing anyway, you are rating how the seller/buyer conducted an online transaction. Helps the community out. I guess there is always that "guy" though.

I left positive feedback to a few sellers on EE but my act wasn't reciprocated. Does that make me a bad buyer? ![]() No, you just need to quit buying stuff from LarryG- Seriously though, I always have left feedback- probably less than 25% I have dealt with leave feedback (buyers and sellers)- I'm not going to beg for feedback- it'd be nice, especially if you've done a bit extra for someone, but it's not a big deal to me.. |
