I have not been a fan of early voting.

The Dem's were definitely ahead of the curve and used it to their advantage in previous elections.  It looks like the Republicans are catching on.  I stopped by a Romney campaign office in NE OH today to get some signs and they were heavily promoting early voting.

Some numbers so far in OH indicate the Repub's are outnumbering the Dem's in early voting.

I am going to vote early this year.  It will fit into my schedule much better and save me at least on hour or two on election day.

Are you voting early?

I work next to an early voting place......

Everyday, cabs and vans pull up all day dropping off what I would call homeless bums and other unsavory type crackheads and alcoholics for the early voting.

Im shocked, SHOCKED I say at the idea that early voting is being used to bus in more Obama votes.

A few years ago on election day I had to stay over at work because of a break down and didn't get to vote, I now vote early.

I vote by mail every election.

The $0.42 stamp is well worth the drive. The local school six doors down use to be where I voted. Then for some unknown reason I got moved to a church about six blocks away. Screw it.

I'm really surprised the Election isn't made a holiday.

Second point, I'm surprised no one has successfully sued about voting in a church. My voting precinct is at a church that changes it's name once a year or so. When I get my voter's registration card, it's already out of date.

I believe there is a difference between absentee voting and early voting in OH.  I think early voting counts as if you voted on election day and absentees are only counted if the election is too close to call.

I may be wrong.

This is my biggest gripe about early voting.

I was the first person to vote at the polling place this morning. Probably one of the first 25 in the state. I didn't see a single sticker for zero at the polls.

There is also a line of thinking that early east coast voting results effects west coast voting. Each side argues the influence. The winning side says that their lead causes voters to not want to bother voting. The losing side says that people want to vote for the winner.

I say if someone is that stupid/clueless they ought to have their vote (and right to reproduce) removed.

My take on early voting, specifically based on my experience in OH.

There were several checks to make sure I was who I said I was.  They did not want to see me ID, but I had to accurately tell them my address, my birthday, either my DL number or the last 4 of my soc and my signature had to match.

There would have to be collusion with the person working at the election office for fraud to occur.  There is a thread in the OH hometown forum about a member's wife who works at a board of elections, and she has seen no shenanigans so far.  So as far as voter fraud it would be difficult.

The biggest negative is that the parties, particularly the Dems, have plenty of time to round up people to go vote who would not have otherwise made it to the polls on election day.

I went and cast my vote today! It felt great to do my part. Even though Texas is a red state. I will add that I live in a relatively small town where everyone is normally friendly and everyone knows everyone. This makes voting very easy and trouble free.

I could see where I voted from my home in town. After redistricting I have to drive six miles out in the county to vote. Fuck that. Driving and standing in line is for suckas.

What really pisses me off is I can't vote for the folks on my county board that influence the goings-on where I live. The district I was moved to are composed of the Farmer John types that are worried about shit that I could care less about.

I voted about a week and a half ago.  On election day, I will leave for work 2 hours before the polls open.  I will get back into town from work 15 minutes after they close.  I voted against brother Obama, against the teachers union, and against the Fish No Game.

I always vote early. I often have to work on election days, plus there is the convenience of doing it and not having to wait in line. Until I voted yesterday, I'd never seen another voter at early voting.

I was in Ohio visiting family over the weekend and noticed both sides pushing early voting.

I'm voting early in VA because I'll be in North Carolina on November 6th.  I'll vote there, too.
