Considering getting one. I like the option of adding sensors for better efficiency, but want to know if it saves $ and manages temps better or is it just another gadget?

i thought it but, if it keeps one room you like nice and cool - the other room that have no issues will be freezing and vice versa?

All it is doing is moving the temp sensor from the thermostat location to another room. It isn't actually changing how your house is conditioned. The only way to do that is with more zones and more thermostats running zone dampers (or zone valves/circulators for hydronic heat).

I have two across two floors in FL.  Awesome control and my bills are half my single story neighbors in the summer.

Edit...2 yr old house, 2 floors, over 3k sq ft and my bills in summer never over $130/mo

I have radiant heat on the first floor so trying to determine if extra sensors would help.

I have 4 sensors, they average the temps and adjust accordingly. So, want it overall cooler, put them in warmer spots.

We keep the upstairs high unless the kids are up there. The sensors are in the bedrooms and playrooms. The unit it behind a 90deg turn to the left so the sensors do the heavy lifting.

Sensors in the sun will mean you air runs more. If that's the goal, then put them there.
