I'm not an electrician.  I'm not even the handiest guy in the world.  In fact, I'm probably more dangerous with a screwdriver than an AR15 (albeit unintentionally).

But, isn't the ground wire going into either a hot or neutral side?  Isn't that, um, bad or something?

just perspective, they all go into the "right" place.  the ground is lining up behind the stripped wire.
