First noticed today. I pulled into my garage and applied the brakes. The driver's side parking light illuminated. Removed my foot-it's gone. Had someone else apply the brake while I watched-for sure its the parking light. The driver's side rear signal also comes on. All four (font and back) turn signals work when applied.

2008 Toyota DC 4x4. I had a HID kit installed a last year. The right lamp has gone out a few times. Its been fine since December until earlier this week it flickered-then died while driving. Have yet to get it replaced. Never noticed the parking light problem until today.

Any ideas?
thanks!

*** Had the place that did the wiring look at it, seems the converter went bad. They fixed it FOR FREE.

thanks to all those who helped.

Check the brake light bulbs.Occasionally the filaments will touch and cause voltage to feedback through the turn signals.
For some reason I am thinking that the Toyotas use a separate turn signal and brake light bulb though.
Also have you added a trailer connector lately.Could cause the same problem if it does have separate bulbs and the wrong style connector was used.

I had a trailer wiring harness installed but it was over a year ago. I have towed several times without any problems. I will pull the brake light bulbs and look.
thanks

Is the first paragraph related to the last?

Nope, was not sure if the light issues are related or not.

check for a bad ground in the harness going to the bulb. they can be a pain to find but I bet you a doughnut that you find a bad ground in that harness.

Do the HID lights get hotter than the stock bulbs?  If so, you may have melted something just enough to cause the problem.

Not in the same housing-no lines cross either. Starting to wonder if it has something to do with the trailer wiring...
