I need a reaction/reflex tester ala the Family Fued button. Basically a visual indicator of who pressed a button first between two people. Anyone know of something like that available for sale? Or alternatively what I would need to build it cheap and easy? |
| It is called an arbitrator, these things are fairly easy to make with an FPGA and can determine who was first or whether there was a tie down into the 1-4 nanosecond range (far beyond human capabilites.). With access to custom CMOS silicon, you could get the precision down into the 40 picosecond range. |

I could build you something that would light up a light for the first person that pushed a button and not light up the others. Then you could have another button to "reset" so that you could start over. Don't know if I could explain it well enough for you to do it though. ETA: Ha...guess I should read the whole thread and links first. This is exactly what I was thinking of when I posted the above. Not bad for $15 if you can solder www.electronickits.com/kit/complete/game/vemk133.htm |
