It has potential. The mid level has over 10k lbs of towing and a 400 mile range with dual motor 4 wheel drive and all the fun bells and whistles of a top trim truck for 60k.

A similarly equipped 4x4 super cab short bed half ton from the big 3 is close enough in price for this to be a viable alternative.

That's my thought. I want something with more towing than my F-150. I also want good gas mileage as I commute 120 miles a day. I need 4WD due to where I live.

This truck is certainly on my radar. I went and looked at Ford's hybrid that came out. It's a great truck, but I don't see what it had that makes it better than the F-150 I'm driving now. I get 21-24 mpg currently.

Cybertruck will probably get 2-2.5 miles per KWh.

At the average US electricity cost of $0.13/KWh, that's $0.052-0.065 per mile. That's a per-mile "fuel" cost equal to a car that gets 43-54 mpg at $2.80 per gallon.

It's also made of 1/8" stainless steel, so it wont rust or dent.

It will be interesting to see the final actual prices after the initial runs and model. I’m honestly interested to see what the range is when towing 9k lbs. I bet it’s 100 miles. Still I’m not a hater, I’ve almost given the EV a try. Maybe my next vehicle. I need a performance model that gets 300 miles in 0 degree weather.

I will definitely give him credit for doing something totally different. I have seen a lot of complaints here and elsewhere about vehicles all being cookie cutter copies of each other with few that stand out in a parking lot.

I see that on here all the time and I'm still trying to figure out how anyone would think he's a snake oil salesman. SpaceX launches more into space than the rest of the world combined. With SpaceX's manned launches the US is not still paying Russia to carry our astronauts to the Space Station. Tesla produced over 500K cars last year and are ramping up rapidly with two Giga factories going online later this year and anther massively expanded in about the same time frame. That's not even getting into the power plants that Tesla is building that looks to make a LOT of money.
