Figured I'd ask, anyone have any hardware suggestions for a mimimal hardware webserver (Linux preferred)?

I've got an opportunity to run off of a static on my friend's ISP (at no cost). I'm just looking for a reliable (long term), low power, dedicated server for running a small website (nothing fancy). The RPi I was testing the theory with at home managed to obtain a corrupted disk...

Look for a reputable refurbished computer and install the server OS you want. We have a place around here that most local business use for electronic recycling and that's where I get my refurbished gear from.

Use a pi 2 or 3 and use a quality SD card like sandisk. I work on embedded stuff regularly and have heard of corrupted flash drives but don't know how that manages to happen.

I could recommend other types of devices but none of them would have the simplicity or support the pi does.

The Pi I was using was an revision 2 B model with a Sandisk.

Somewhere I've got some HP Proliant rack mounts...I've just got to find them.
