Two episodes that I always remember...because they scared the living daylights out of me:
1. Episode where a cobra came out of a hole in the wall and bit a guy 2. Another episode where a guy popped the top open on a beer can, dropped the top into the can, started drinking, and ended up swallowing the top. |

I’m curious if there is a story about Fireman Marco lopez, being played by actor Marco lopez.
Odd to use real name. |

In real life Julie London was married to Bobby Troup and had been married to and divorced from Jack Webb.

I’m still amazed at the shows relative realism. 50 years later we’re still dealing with the same crap on the medic.

Loved that show, watched it as a kid. I don’t think I have Cozi TV, bummer.

That show taught me that swapping any two leads on a 3 phase motor will reverse it.

Never watched, a bit before my time, but I remember Adam Carolla talking about walking through his neighborhood as a kid and there was an ambulance parked that he went up to see what was going on and it was two actors from Emergency!, they were filming nearby and that was their start point to drive into the shot. They were bored while the crew was changing shots and they let him check out the inside.

Julie London (Dixie) was a very attractive woman and a very good Jazz/Standards singer:

I don't know if it was this show, but I barely recall one about a guy that pulled his beer tab off the can and stuck it back in the can and ended up choking on it.

My wife is a much bigger tv fan than I am, and she watches the Emergency shows on FETV in our area.
Along with Rawhide, Perry Mason, and Leave it to Beaver. I can hear the sirens of Emergency from my computer/radio room when I'm in there. She prefers the older shows to the mostly crap on these days. |

Quoted: Sorry that show sucks View Quote Ahhh, you’re the guy who didn’t score high enough on the civil service test and ended up as a cop. The buzz cut and mirrored sunglasses type. But I digress. No doubt that most firemen and paramedics in my generation got there because of Emergency. I remember back in the late 90’s/early 2000’s, the cast and Squad were in town for the Baltimore Fire Expo. Chet, Marco, Stoker, and Doc Morton were there signing autographs. Hell I even have the Code 3 Station 51 with the firehouse, squad, Ward Lafrance, and the Crown pumper. Only fitting that this is this weekend after having my retirement party yesterday ending my 34 years as a fireman/paramedic. |

I can vividly remember the day I got it. We lived on Warner-Robbins AFB, GA. I was in kindergarten and attended WR Elementary School. On that day, as I walked home from school, my Mom and younger brother were standing on the side of the road opposite the school , with my Mom holding the lunchbox for me. They'd gone to the base exchange that day, where she bought it. I was happy as a pig in shit. About 5 or so years ago, my Mom found a well-worn one at a flea market, bought it, and mailed it to me. |

I don't have Cozi TV but was on set (fire museum shop) when they did some of the filming. A buddy told me I was in the background. I volunteer in the museum at least once a week. Did they happen to show the restored ambulance? I put some time in on that. It is a great place with great people. I also did 31 years, 5 months with L.A. Co. FD.

Loved that show.
Ringers TKO for the win. One week doing nursing clinicals my instructor mentioned that on Emergency they always used Ringers but now the standard is NS.(0.9%), because Ringers has a greater risk, I think, for fluid volume overload. Saw an episode recently where singer/actor Bobby Sherman portrayed a resident intern at Rampart who got snotty with the 51 crew and got ordered by Brackett to go on a few ride-alongs with Johnny and Roy. They ended up rescuing a heart attack victim stranded atop of an amusement park ride. I read that Bobby Sherman quit acting at the height of his career and became a first responder because of his experience on the show. He recently retired. That’s cool as shit. Saw Randy Mantooth interviewed recently, he’s not doing too well. Frail and memory issues but still very enthusiastic about his work with the LAFD. |

Good times... almost 3 decades. Time flies View Quote Awesome, made me laugh out loud. There was always that salty old medic that would look at the ropes and say "don't miss", then mmall beads of sweat appear on upper lip. |

View Quote Yep, very cool: When Sherman guest-starred on an episode of the Jack Webb television series Emergency! ("Fools", season 3, episode 17, aired January 19, 1974), he found a new calling. Eventually, he left the public spotlight and became an emergency medical technician (EMT).[9] He volunteered with the Los Angeles Police Department, working with paramedics and giving CPR and first aid classes. He officially became a technical Reserve Police Officer with the Los Angeles Police Department in the 1990s, a position he still held as of 2017. For more than a decade he served as a medical training officer at the Los Angeles Police Academy, instructing thousands of police officers in first aid and CPR. He was named LAPD's Reserve Officer of the Year in 1999. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bobby_Sherman |

All those shows used the hell outta Chrysler products, with that goofy sounding starter they all had.
If someone said something on the radio, they panned a shot of the radio. |
