[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Engineers: Need Beam Program

I'm looking for a simple 2-d program that allows me to specify properties for a beam, apply a simple load, and then see shear and moment diagrams. Just needs to be really simple

Also, a rather basic question. Why does inertia sometimes have units of mm^4, and sometimes kg-mm^2?

Don't know about anything free... Nastran or Patran is what I use, but they are expensive tools. Sorry, free bump.

Used it for school, it's hard to beat. Free trial, and cheap to buy, too. It has a lot of info about the applications as well.
I'm using Beamchek for work now, gives me all I need for the jobs I do.
