[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Erectile dysfunction :-( (Page 1 of 2)

Yes, even a tough-as-nails New York city cop who takes on terrorists single-handed can get Da Big ED. ) when the problem fully manifested itself. Herr Doktor said normal testosterone is from 7.2 to 24 (what units, he did not say), and mine is 3.9. Don't really want to take the blue pill, as that's a band-aid fix. The real issue is this is a "canary-in-the-coal-mine" kind of thing: if the gear isn't deploying for landing, it's a symptom of a deeper issue. REALLY don't want to try to wade thru the 170-odd page "low testosterone" thred; can someone give me Cliff notes? Beta prostate is more for urination (have had some issues lately with feeling the need to go when I don't really need to go, burning, etc.), as well as it seeming to be a scam. I CAN get it up, just not as well as I did a year ago. Help me Arfie-Wan-Kenobi, you're my only hope! |

Try your primary care physician first. Tell him about your difficulties, your lack of energy, lack of interest in things, loss of strength. Google the ADAM questions and see which of your symptoms fit. Some PCP's will treat it, some won't. Some know what they are doing, most don't.
If you aren't happy with what he provides, expect to go to a private clinic and pay cash. |

So you got your diagnosis, low T, and you're looking for answers here to alleviate your symptoms? Why not just get your T back up? Or am I missing something? This. Plus, I would think it probably more beneficial to discuss this with a guy having M.D. after their name instead of GD. Of course there are some docs in GD, so probably just as good.

Not sure why you wouldn't take either Cialis or Viagra, but that is what to do if you want to a boner like when you were 18. Trust me. B/c again, ED is a symptom of a bigger issue. At 51, there is no reason I can't perform... unless other parts of my life/body are out of whack. Boner pills are band-aids; I should be able to do this au natuale.

Testosterone has little effect on ED itself. Your desire for sex will increase or decrease with T levels, but not your ability to keep it up.
The biggest factor in ED is blood pressure. The higher it is, the more chance you have for ED. BP is a measure of how much force your heart has to overcome in order to circulate blood through your system. Popping wood is simply a reaction to stimulus that opens some dam gates that are normally closed. If you have high BP, it means there's less blood available to do what you want. There are of course other causes and factors, but hypertension is by far the first place you should look. Now, if you had no desire to get down with your partner, that would be a symptom of low testosterone. |

It probably is that you are getting older. Period. Boner pills are band aids in the same sense all meds are. |

I'm not your doctor, but the first thing I'd do is get my T back up and then reevaluate. Seems like a no-brainer to me. |

Check with your primary care physician. This could be a symptom of more serious problems. As for the ladies, you still have fingers, a tongue, and a brain. Learn to use them. And I have, as well as "foreign objects". Still and all, I have found ladies NEED a good hosing to be FULLY satisfied; no substitutes need apply. |

OP look at weight, exercise, and diet. There's lots you can do before the blue pill. Regardless of any of it, your a man, your getting older, and it's going to slow down regardless of what you try. This here. If you're diet has been crap and you aren't exercising, it will catch up. You get older and you realize the importance of cardio.

| ED can be a sign of another disease or stress on the body. Go get a full workup with your doc along with a cardiologist. Another problem with the low T and ED might be varicocele, which is enlargement of the veins of the scrotum. A urologist or male reproductive specialist will be able to help you with that. |
