Eric known to quite a few of us. and Damned Good friend to some of us. Passed away peacefully in his sleep Wednesday night. He did not show up for work and his boss called my brother in law (they had all three worked together for years) my Brother in law called me, we went to Eric's home and knocked and shouted and pounded. no answer, his vehicle was in the driveway. Unable to get a response from inside, His BOSS had called the Raytown PD to do a welfare check earlier in the day and they did the same, knock and again no response earlier in the day they couldn't force the door or anything. We called 911 reported that we were there and unable to get a response they dispatched PD When I got there I went to a window that had an AC unit installed I moved one of the blockoff wings back and reached in to take a photo. nothing. I returned to the front of the house and he had a portable AC unit in the front room that exhausted out the front window I pulled the screen and lifted the sash, I was able to see Eric seemingly asleep in his favorite chair. I could not discern respirations and he was not responsive to shouts of his name. I just got out of the hospital from foot surgery on friday so I could not climb through the window. PD eventually showed up 6 officers. one made entry through the aforementioned window unlocked the door from inside. and confirmed that he was deceased. Rest in Peace Eric. Edit to add: Eric's service is on June 27th Visitation at 1pm service is at 2pm DW Newcomers and Son's Floral Hills Chapel 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64133 Adding a sense of humor photo of Eric... this is the pioneer indoor facility on Brickyard road... Rifles are Verboten... but he was shooting his G3 with the training bolt and Blue rounds... all plastic projectiles. LOL!

Sad to hear this. No other explanation other than peacefully in his sleep? How old was he? Was he ill? |

Damn! I just saw this. I got him a few jobs with me over the years. Mall security for a while and security at a salvage freight place that’s now in Independence. He was a funny, great guy! I’ll miss him. Edit to add. Last time we talked he said he got bit by a spider and lost a toe. Not sure if losing the toe was from the spider bite or other health issues. I know he was happy at his new job…Honda (I think) |
