Euro "trash" are hippies and they won't dare do anything more than toss a rock- and only if a camera is on them.
Most europeans aren't trash though, but they don't have the means to field the weapons we do, let alone the environment to practice with those weapons, nor the heart to use those weapons against another person- even if they are being oppressed or threatened. So rednecks win hands-down. |

Lots. I will attest to the above. ASU Bahrain 1987- Alcohol was cheap and the Brits were there, I seen it. Also, The platoon ldr that ran out of ammo recently and fixed bayonettes on that little rifle they carry and finished kicking ass. Too bad these guys are outnumbered by the idiots.

I'm guessing rednecks, just judging by some of the rednecks I know. Now I said "know", not associate with. Some of them have killed a guy or three in bar fights or running people over with their big ass 4WD trucks. Somehow they're out of prison though

You need to read more, and not that Propaganda bullshit they teach to gullible American Highschool Kids. Step out of your comfort zone and reasearch what really went on. I have. You could try reading a book by a chap called Mark Urban, called Fusilliers........ it's a good starting point and presents a neutral and fact based representation of the experiences of British Troops and the history behind it.. It's not your fault and I have no doubt that you are an intelligent guy, but in order to make an appraisal of a situation you'd do well to look at it from both sides. It doesn't really matter to me, and it's not a point scoring exercise. I'm genuinely interested in the history, but all this chest thumping crap about whupping redcoat ass is absolute bollocks. You should appreciate that the history you are taught is the one they want you to know......not the one that actually happened. You should always bear that in mind, and seek to gain a better understanding. Being conversant in the history that is force fed to you from the day you were born is one thing..... going out and seeking the facts in order to make your own mind up and verify your understanding is another one.
Seriously, there's some really intersting books on the subject, and they are good to read withiout being preachy and uptight. I quite enjoyed learning about it. |

If Hitler had really wanted your little island; he would have taken it. To a point the you are correct. But American Lend lease didn't start until November 1940 and didn't get into full swing until the following April. Furthermore we paid every penny we owed, so on that front, we bailed ourselves out by setting up the trade agreement as a lend lease with our ally the US........ In no way am I suggesting that we weren't allies and helped one-another or disputing that the US was our key ally as we are today. We won the Battle of Britain because we inflicted heavier casualties on the Germans than they did on us and we broke their will to invade. We also had the advantage of fighting over home soil which made us much more resilient in terms of retunrning downed pilots back to their units after they bailed out, or to hospital if they were injured. I suspect that those are the key factors. The tactical and strategic decisions could be debated for years. Stupidity or a respnse to deliberate British provocation have all been cited..... fact remains we beat them. |
