In on one for promising creepiness!
My favorite ARFCOM possession story is the one in the creepy thread about the soldier in Iraq who saw the Iraqi civilian riding as passenger in a car late at night who looked possessed. BTW - the opening scene of the movie THE EXORCIST is set in Iraq. |

When I was 12 or 13 my mom and I were visiting some hillbilly church out in the boonies. At some point in the service they mentioned that after church they were going to a member's house to do an exorcism on his daughter. I begged my mom to let us go, but nope. One of the big disappointments of my life. I've always loved crazy shit like that.
If anyone here on arfcom is capable of doing an exorcism, I'd be happy to invite the cloven hoofed one into my heart just to see what might happen...

Read "Hostage to the Devil," by Malachi Martin... but don't read it at night. I read that book when it first came out in 1976. Scared the shit out of me. He was a guest on Art Bell's show shortly before he died (about ten years ago). One of the creepiest shows Art ever had on. |

First off, are you the possedee or the possessor.? Just asking. ![]() lol... I did date a girl about 10 years ago who was a Wiccan. I was at her house one night while she was working 2nd shift and the damn blinds on the windows started shaking like it was a fucking earthquake. It lasted for about 5 seconds and it was over. On another occasion, we were lying in bed and the UNPLUGGED radio alarm clock under the bed started flickering on and off (it also had no batteries in it). I later found out she was into black magic. I was somewhere between an agnostic and atheist when I met her, and a full blown Christian when I left her. |

Don't they sell a CD of the interview or something? |
| My brother was a cop back in the 80's. He went on a call to a house where this girl was, according to hear distraught parents, possessed. She was in her early teens. My brother is no small man. He's 6'10" and at the time about 270. He said he and his partner were having a hell of a time trying to subdue this girl. At one point she picked up and threw a washing machine at them. My brother said he was convinced. Not a personal experience, but one told to me. |

Ever wonder why people seem drawn to do purely evil things?
Ever wonder about the motivation behind some of the stupidity politicians pull? It's easy to let a little bit of thier voice in. Most don't hardly notice themselfs changing. Demons ain't allways going to be what Hollywood makes them out to be. It's really far simpler. |

| When I was a cop, we had a guy in town we called simply "the devil". He was OK on his meds, but when he was off them, I swear that Satan himself was in the guy. We arrested him one night and put him in a cell. A few minutes later there was a bang and a shudder that shook the walls in the buliding. Then another, and another. We ran to the cell. This guy was backing up to the back wall, lowering his head and running face first into the flat steel bars across the cage as hard as he could. We watched him do it a few more times, cause to be honest, none of us wanted to fight him and we figured he would knock himself out in a minute. We finally got his attention and he walked up to the bars. There was not a mark on his head. That kind of force would have split my skull, but he didn't have a mark, bruise or anything! At another time, our biggest officer choked him out with a rear naked choke (he was by himself and really had no other option.) The guy went out cold, and jumped up about ten seconds later fresh as a daisy. This guy had supernatural powers, and we always figured he must have sold his soul or something. |

I'm not, and that's why I want NOTHING to do with that side of things. There is FAR more to this world than we see, friend. Yea, I'm sure. Just because there are scary things in this world, and some are hard to understand, does not validate the idea at all IMO, that the explanation could be evil demons from hell taking possession of a person's mind and body. Mental illness is a hell of a thing. |

You can call it fake all day long––won't mean a thing to anyone but yourself. There's no "burden of proof" here at all. |

I posted this story about 4 years ago. It has been about 14 years now:
Almost 10 years ago I encountered a case of true possession. I was a teacher at the time and worked in a program that was designed to allow student that were not able to attend class to get credit for attending school. It was called a "homebound" program. I had many students with various diseases as well as students that could not go to school because of violent behavior problems or criminal status. One of my students was a 6 year old female that was prevented from attending school because of violent episodes. During these episodes, she would babble, scream, and exhibit the strength of a strong adult male. It would require a number of ADULT teachers and aides to subdue her. She was able to throw a regular size student desk across the room. She had an entire battery of doctors that worked with her to no effect at all. She had a very bad family environment at all levels. It should be noted that her family was involved in a voodoo cult. Until meeting with her a number of times, I had assumed that she had severe psychological problems. However, after a number of meetings, I began to think that she might be possessed. I also realized that she could read minds during her "possessions"! I decided to test my theory. So the next time that I went to her home, I was sitting behind her and THOUGHT to myself the following: "If you are really possessed, then get up from your chair and go pick up the shoes in the corner." That that moment, she turned in her chair and stood up. She walked to the corner and picked up the shoes and then turned to me and smiled. She set the shoes back down and walked back to her chair and went back to work. I had a coworker that came to the same conclusions due to similar experiences. She terrorized and attacked everyone that worked with her except me and the one other coworker that came to the same conclusion as me. She feared the two of us greatly and would writhe in pain sometimes just from being in our presence. The rest of the time, she would cower. I could get her to work only if she did not have to look at me. |

Quoted: Has anyone on here actually encountered a demon possessed person (or place) or witnessed an exorcism? Any personal experiences? No, thankfully. IIRC, the Catholic Church has some very well documented accounts of exorcisms. Good luck trying to get your hands on said accounts, they are probably in the Vatican archive which is not accessible to the public. |

Everything out there cannot be explained by science. There's shit out there we can't begin to comprehend in this life. |
