I ordered a 5.11 messenger bag from them for my laptop but they sent me the wrong item; they did offer up an RMA but apparently expect me to pay return shipping. Has anyone else here had any dealings with them and if so what was your experience?

| Before I made a purchase with them I contacted the owner/ manager via email. I told him my concerns about his company, and the rep he has on gun forums. He told me the item I wanted was in stock (aimpoint 3x mag). I got a confirm email from him personally the next day with tracking info. I seen a lot of bad reports about the company, and I am still kinda on the fence about making a 2nd purchase from them even though I had no issues. My point is why risk it. If you know there is a small to large chance of getting burned. I had a problem with LA Police Gear as well, and after bashing them on forums I got what I was promised ( a few years back they had a 5.11 promo for every 5.11 pair of pants you ordered you got a od green bug out bag). They didnt send me the 2 bags with my order, and the told me that offer expired, but was clearly on their website. |

when dealing with Botach, always call and have someone verify that your item is in stock, and have them do the ordering right there, so the item gets out of inventory and is earmarked for you. never, ever, ever, backorder anything from them. If you get a wrong item, call them and bitch until you're satisfied. Don't compromise with them, no matter what; always bitch and complain until you're satisfied. i don't order from them any more, because I got sick of their shit, but I did get some smoking good deals a few years back. Streicher's has treated me well, as has Bravo Company. Cabelas and Brownells are perfect, in my account book, as is Wilson Combat. |

I recently placed 2 orders with Botach and both orders were shipped the same day, they had great price on the items that I bought, included free shipping and I received my shipments 3 business days later. My brother had the same experience ordering from Botach earlier this month.
With regards to the OP's original question about having to pay to return the product. IMO, it is standard practice in the real world that the return shipping expense is a cost incurred by the person shipping back the product return unless it was a mistake by the original shipper. |

Hearsay? My Botach experience went something like this. Called to verify stock of multiple items to include a Camelbak backpack and Glock 19 magazines. Paid expedited shipping since I was told all items were in stock. Card charged. Got an automated email with UPS tracking number. Wait two weeks. Call to find out what the problem is. UPS tracking only says a tracking number has been created. Evidently the Camelbak in now out of stock and they are holding up the rest of my items. I am told the Camelbak is back in stock and all items will be shipped soon. Wait another week and still no package and the UPS tracking number is still not updated. Call them again and I am told that the hangup is the Glock magazines are now out of stock. Tell them to cancel order. I am told the order is cancelled and I will receive refund in 3 business days. Wait two more weeks. No Refund! Call again. Guy then tells me a refund was given. I then call credit card company and no refund has been given. I am then issued refund by the credit card company. Fast forward about 5 months and out the the blue I get a package from Botach! I know I have not ordered anything from them and refuse the package. Go look on my credit card statement and the assholes have recharged my card without my permission and resent the items. Another call to my credit card and another charge back. Fast forward another couple of weeks and I see another charge on my credit card after refusing the UPS shipment I cancelled. The bastards have charged me for $35 for refusing the package I cancelled and they resent 6 months after my original purchase. Another charge back! So yeah, fuck Botach! Too many other reliable vendors out there than to take a chance with these assclowns. |

Yup, you got the bait and switch which is their standard MO. I was one of the suckers much like yourself about 7 years ago that didn't know anything about them but I found out the hard way. When my order went to complete shit I googled them and proceeded to punch my self in the nuts for being so stupid.
Now, I go out of my way to inform every person possible by replying to every post about Botach or any of their so called deals. On top of being a horrible business to deal with, it's been said they have some "shady" connections in the world also. Do some research and you'll start punching your balls too if you're not already

I have found that they are not bent on evil, but their absolute disorganization can easily lead one to believe that they are.
5 days after order "We're out of that and not getting anymore in. Let us know." Me "Let you know what? Refund my money." "We haven't charged you. We don't charge until it's in stock." Me: *screenshot of charge from online banking screen." "What would you like to do?" Me "Give me those instead." "That will be $xx, please send me a credit card number." Me "You already charged me for the other" "We don't do that" ...ad nauseam. |

Ordered ammo and mags from them a few years ago. Good price, showed up on time, no issues. YMMV. I've ordered from Botach three times
First time, ordered an MBUS. Got an e-mail the next day saying they were out of stock. Called and spoke with customer service. They cancelled my order and refunded my money within 24 hours. Second time, ordered some PMAGS from them on a Monday at 4pm. Got 'em four days later. Third order, placed yesterday afternoon (Sunday). Got an e-mail this afternoon with a tracking number. Suffice to say I got no problem with Botach. Just give them a call to be sure what you have in your cart is in stock and you'll be happy. |
| Guess I got semi lucky. I ordered 5 std Pmags on a Thursday. Out of stock email early Friday, but told in email I could get a free upgrade to the windowed Pmags, Umm, yeah. After about an hour of trying to get a hold of them the lady changed my order to the free windowed upgrade, and I received the order the following Wednesday, 5 windowed Pmags for $59 bucks, wish I had ordered 20! |
