Probably limted slip.Ratio should be on a tag on the rear end.You could call Ford with the V.I.N. -
they should be able to look it up.Good luck.

We'll need more information than that.  Those trucks were available with a number of gear ratios and the  option of either open differential or a limited slip.

take a gander over at ford trucks.com

there are several forums there where you should be able to find the info.

Put the truck on a lift, put it in neutral and spin one of the rear tires with your hand.  If the other rear tire turns in the same direction, it is a limited slip.

easier way to check is to leave your parking space 'quickly'.   If the rubber marks on the lot are the same length, it's posi.  If it only leaves one track, or one is a foot or so shorter, it ain't posi.

IIRC the gear ration is 3.73 in that model.

GM's have a sticker that lists all the options that came on a truck.

Furd might have something similar.

Or, find some ice and check for that LSD yourself.

Why don't you ask for the build sheet for your vehicle from Ford?  A friend of mine just did it for his 2001 SD he just bought.  Has everything that Ford.com put on the vehicle at the time it left the factory.

the build sticker in the door opening has a axle code, it should be listed in you manual. also go to www.f150online.com and use the VIN decoder that may help.

Crawl underneath the truck and look at the aluminum tag attatched to the differential cover.

The ratio will be listed, probably 3.73. If it is a limited slip, the letter "L" will be seen right after the ratio.

Your welcome.
