There's no such thing as theft in the army....
...just soldiers trying to get their shit back!

When I had my first polygraph after my discharge from the Army for my first LEO job, they reviewed the questions before being hooked up to the machine.

When we got to the question about ever stealing anything. I explained in 4 years active duty I had reallocated equipment a number of times.

The polygraph operator laughed and said that was not going to be an issue. The answer to that question only related to other than military service.

I passed the polygraph and was hired.

They stole one of those from the Guard/Reserve Center in Buckeye, Arizona, once.  It was a drunk AGR.  Joy ride, left it out in the desert.

If I was to wager I would say a current NG guy on a dare from his drinking buddies or a veteran on a dare from his drinking buddies.

Some rando won't even know how to start it, especially since every movie with a supposed mil HMMWV has a key ignition in it.

Question the mechanic about that vehicles particular history or reputation?

Anyone remember the air drop that went horribly wrong.

Until it was discovered it all went horribly to plan to never have to deal with them again.

Lol the door package on it would probably bring 5-6,000 going to some of the cloners out there.  Hell you could probably get 25-30k parting it out quick sale then melt the frame down to beer cans and sell it in ingots.   Most likely loaded on a truck and crossed the border though.

ETA:  it looks like a tittles/BOS body could be had for $3-5k.   You could have a sweet legal ride with a little work.

Considering that probably 90% of their vehicles are deadlined at any given time, this is probably a catastrophic loss for that unit.

Yeah me too! I worked at 2 different Weinerschnitel's in Corpus Christi, back in the day (when it was "Der Weinerschnitel"). Loved the Chili Cheese Dogs! Just looked, nearest one to me is 124.9 miles away.

A former NG person told me that it is really weird for the FBI to advertise a reward for a missing Humvee.  Stuff gets stolen from the NG all the time.  All kinds of stuff too.  Big stuff, small stuff, all of it.  They even have full time people who's job is to track down stolen stuff.
He speculated that the FBI might have stolen it themselves.

Would the FBI steal a Humvee and use it as part of a false flag attack?

Yup.

Pretty sure they could just do a 10mile radius search and find it either broke down or stuck in some loose dirt.

I'm really not a conspiracy guy but this is an interesting angle considering the timing of the inauguration.

Doesn't CID usually handle these types of matters?

How did they defeat the ignition lock?

Right? Most they would need is a wrench, if the door was locked, and bolt cutters if they cable locked the steering wheel.

However, I doubt it was secured at all.
