The FFL tax thread got me thinking is there a minimum amount FFL's have to charge for a transfer or is it up to the dealer?

it's up to the dealer.

eta:
he could do it for free if he'd like.

My FFL is $15 for the first firearm and $5 for each after that, assuming you do it at the same time.

Every FFL I've ever used (5+ in IN/OH/FL) want a minimum of $25 and more consistently $30+ depending on the transaction.  I would say the expected rate is around $25 per transfer in the midwest and south.

No, FFL's don't have to charge a fee for a transfer.

Mine charges $35 but he lets me order stuff out of his dealer catalogs at the price he would pay. So no matter what the gun costs Im only paying a $35 mark up.
