The live video feed from the HUMVEE on FOX news is EXACTLY the view I had in 91' with [what was then] the 24th ID. I drove a HUMVEE behind an M113 many times in the convoy. I was a Surveyor (82C) for the 1/41st FA. We provided coordinates for the M109 "self propelled" 155 howitzers with bran new had never been used GPS technology. We still used the PADS (Position and Azimuth Determining System) vehicle to drop a grid coordinate for the howitzers, but that’s all obsolete now. I'm gonna post some pictures soon. They will look exactly like what your seeing now on TV, but with a few more burned vehicles, prisoners of war giving up with white flags, a few bodies, etc.. |

Lemme ask you a Humvee question...did it have words on the side mirrors that said "Hummer"?? Or are those news crews riding the civilian version with desert camo?? I saw the Humvee that the FOX guy was riding...and it was clearly printed on the side mirrors "HUMMER"..just curious. |

The vehicle they are riding in is the standard civilian Hummer that you would get if you bought one in Kuwait, they are configured more like a military vehicle than what you get in Los Angeles. They sprayed it with sand colored paint (or the Army sprayed it for them), htey also siad that the average price for that vehicle over there (used) is $30,000, for a late model, how much does a late model diesel Hummer go for here? Eidted to add: Also notice the rearview mirrors at the front corners of the hood, and thier vehicle has some type of padding around the edges of the interior that would not be seen on a military version (although I recently saw a battalion commanders HMMWV that had CUCV seats in the front). |

Thats what I thought..what military would allow advertising in war?? I knew it had to be the civilian model...which means they also are riding more comfortable than a mil spec Humvee.[:D] Thats a $100,000 vehicle them boyz are in! Wonder if they've got a boom system in it like the rappers do? [LOL] |

I remember very detailed specific images and situations, prompted almost immediately by the live video feed. I've been flipp'in through my picture albums. |
