| I am looking for any FM that would have a SOP for m16/m4 ranges utilizing cover. Does anyone have any info? I was reading FM 3-22.9 and they have all sorts of information for rapid fire training programs and the like, but when it comes to trying to get the use of cover integrated during a range they only briefly gloss over that cover might come in handy. 7-6 in there covers urban operations firing positions, but it does not tell you how to integrate them into a range. I would just throw up some plywood barriers and go from there, but I was told this has to be to standard. Any info would be appreciated. |
I don't think there is a standard for integrating into a range. You might want to try asking this on the NCO net, or possibly even the AKO forums (and good luck with that crapshoot). Maybe even shoot off an email/letter to the Infantry school as this would be part of their domain. |
| I found tc 90-1 which is training for urban ops may 2008. It has a lot of good stuff in it, but it's mostly shoot houses and things like that. You would think there would be some standard for that stuff. Thanks for the advice. I am probably going to shoot a few emails. |

I know this thing exists. www.rlehner.de/milcom/bn/2008/bn_02_2008.pdf That pdf on page 12 has a story about a barricade course at JMTC with a photo of some guy shooting from behind a plywood wall. It sounds like it's not at static course, but a move and shoot kind. This seems to be quite the elusive beast. |
