Gents-

So I just got a FNP Tac 45 and was very dissappointed with it...3 FTF's 1 FTE and one Click and No Bang.

So I have been reading their website but wanted to know since its my 1st time sending in a firearm for service––

If I'm goign to send it back for service via UPS do I tell UPS there is a gun in the box?  Or just send and insure, and FNH will send directly back to me?  or do I have to go through an FFL?

Thanks in advance

Have you called/spoken to someone at FNH? They should have pretty clear directions as to how to send it, what to send, how to package it, etc...

Packing and what to send are all on their website-

They say just send it via UPS and insure it...got that

but what do I tell the UPS guys?  And does it go through a FFL?

I would call them and ask them to send a label and pay for shipping. (May as well ask).

On the FNH Forum they said that never happens but I'll call 'em before I send it out-

Was afraid my mouth would get ahead of me, I'm kind of pissed about this whole thing but I understand that even great companies make mistakes

Call them first and tell them what is going on and ask if they will send you a shipping label. I bet they will.

At the very least they should issue you a call number or RMA number or something, otherwise it'll be a random guy sending a random firearm for an unspecified problem to them...give them a call, let them know, they should get it set up on their end at least. They may not pay for shipping to them, but they should pay for shipping back to you.

Shipping is directly from you to them, and them to you; no other parties need to be involved (note - this may vary by state...)

If I'm not mistaken you have to declare with UPS what you are sending.  If you don't or mislead them with what it is they could deny a possible damage or loss claim.

Pretty much this. Without an RMA they won't know who you ore or why you are sending them a pistol.

Also for shipping you have to tell UPS that it's a gun and because it's a pistol they will make you 2-day it so I hope you are willing to spend $60.

If you bought it from an FFL, they may be willing to ship it back to FN for you. As an FFL, they have cheaper shipping options.

And in typical ARFCOM fasion the hive is right again.

They did indeed provide the label!

I talked with Mike at FNH customer service and he was very polite and responsive.  Asked what kinds of ammo I had tried, asked if I had cleaned the weapon, and I had.  Told me to go ahead and send it in and I'd be looking at around 4 weeks total turn over time.  I asked him if he would provide a label and he said sure.

So far this is turning into a good return experience, crappy 1st go around with th weapon but we'll see if we can get her fixed and ready to roll.

Be prepared to spend $75 of your own money to send it back. Don't buy FN products in the future.
I just read they are paying shipping . I am surprised.
