| looking at a Mossberg 930 SPX or 930 tactical which is about $100 cheaper. what is the general consensus on these autoloading shotguns? have the bugs for the most part been worked out? Concerning the 930 tactical is there a way to mount a ghost ring rear sight on this or are you limited to just the dot front sight? |

SPX owner.
Has been through 2 different shotgun courses and was my shotgun when I was doing the 3 gun thing. I have been very happy with it. Only complaint I really have is the loading gate will snag your thumb on occasion when loading in a hurry. ETA: Its been very reliable for me and i feed it cheap stuff mostly. |
| I've got a 24" JM Pro and I love it. I had an initial problem with shells getting hung at the junction between the tube and the extension but I expanded the built in tube with a socket, smoothed and beveled the transition point and now it runs everything I can put through it without a hiccup. |

Like my SPX.
They had issues with canted front sights early on, so check that first. Chamfer the ends of the mag tube and the tube extension, and add a Wolff extra power tube spring and it should run like a top. There's a guy selling welded-up loading gates as well, if you feel the need. DO NOT buy the cheap Winchester Universal / SuperSpeed / SuperTrap loads. They are the bane of gas guns. |
