Rugged Trail my ass...

Got 5 miles off the highway. Stopped to set up targets. Hear hissing. Treat bubble. Just blew out, waiting for tow. Stopped 3 times for air, blew the fix a flat all over my wheelwell.

You are traipsing out into the boonies without a spare?  Do you LIKE long, unplanned walks?  That could be deadly here in AZ in the summer!!

I'm more amazed that a Ranger made it 5 miles off road!

Why did you remove the spare from underneath the truck? I've never seen a Ranger that didn't come with a full size spare.

I've had one flat in almost 10, I still have a spare just in case, I've never had to shoot anyone, but I still carry.

It was part of that Firestone recall. Then I gave it to a buddy who was down and out. Never got it back. That was 5+ years back.

No road hazard. Paying cash for tire & tow. installed October last year.

Warranty should be in effect for that tire.  looks new.

The first, and only time I've ever had a blow out was when I was on the way to the local Auto shop for a used tire to replace my shredded spare.

The best part was that due to circumstances beyond my control, I would've needed a tow, even if I had a good spare.

Well I see your mistake- you assumed the tires were rugged trail when in fact they are only rugged terrain.
Sheesh c'mon now!!

You are the epitome of GD....driving a truck with no spare tire....for fucks sake

Rugged Terrain tires are not "off road" tires by they way...see the notes from Tire Rack...it is a street tire that looks like an off road tire....

The Rugged Terrain T/A is BFGoodrich's On-/Off-Road All-Terrain light truck tire developed for the drivers of jeeps, pickup trucks and sport utility vehicles looking for versatile tires that can work during the week and be ready for a little adventure on the weekends. Designed as a tire option that fits between Highway All-Season on-road tires and more aggressive On-/Off-Road All-Terrain tires, the Rugged Terrain T/A combines a bold off-road appearance along with on-road appeal by blending aggressive looks with pleasant ride qualities and year-round traction in dry, wet and wintry conditions.

The Rugged Terrain T/A radial's symmetric tread design features alternating width, wraparound shoulder blocks that extend onto the tire's upper sidewalls to generate traction on loose surfaces, while small tread-cleaning bars molded at the bottom of the shoulder grooves help eject gravel and dirt. Two large central circumferential grooves and multiple lateral grooves evacuate water to resist hydroplaning and enhance wet traction. The tread design features variably sized elements whose shapes and sizes have been computer-optimized to reduce pattern noise as the tire rolls against the road.

So now a rock on a dirt trail is a road hazard.

Should be "Rugged Asphalt".

$300 tire & tow. The tow is my own fault.

Looks like you hit a curb or something first according to that sidewall damage.

Its tough to tell from your pic but I think I see shiny metal on the rim at the same spot as the damage to the sidewall.

I aired up in Delle, Grantsville, Toelle, Magna, then went flat 2 miles from my shop. Narrow 2-lane construction, had to keep driving until I had a soft shoulder to pull onto.

Tires new in October. Zero sidewall damage.

Damn. Why would you not have a spare? Mine hangs underneath the truck bed. It takes 5 minutes or less to change a tire. Takes longer to make to phone call for rescue.

Wow. GD manliness disappoints.    Changing tires is for fags. Er, I mean lesbos.

10 years ago I loaned it to a friend. He had it on when he wrecked that truck. It's been years.

I've always bought new tires early. Guess the trail hazards were bound to catch up.

I do all my own mechanics. Tires off all the time. Spare is easy. Just didn't have one. I'll stop by the wrecker & buy a ford rim tomorrow or Monday.

Not a manliness thing....just busy. I've taken city driving for granted for many years now.

I'm not lugging that full size spare out of the bottom of the truck.  OP is right, wait for the tow and browse internet porn while waiting for them to show up.

Fix a flat was $12 in Delle and air was $1. Lost all of both! Glad they all had air!!

I was looking at 2015 Mustangs, nothing to see yet, but looking at brochures, specs, etc.  A spare tire is optional and only if  you get the stock 18" wheels.  No optional spare tire is available for the fancier 19" rims
