Loosen lock nut with forementioned "wrench."

Curious, what make is this "faux Dremel" that you speak of? Maybe someone else has one and can be more specific.

There should be a button that you press while turning the knob at the end of the shaft. It will open and close the hole the bit goes in, you can select between different "chucks" depending on the girth of the bit. It's not called a chuck though, I forget what it's called. I think they all work like this.
