[ARCHIVED THREAD] - False IM notification

my IM icon is lit up, and when I reply in a thread I get a new IM notification. I dont have any new IM's though. I tried logging out, then back in.

What else should I try?

ETA: I deleted cookies and history also, no change

i have had this problem as well. i go through and click on the messages in the inbox and it eventually goes away

I had deleted a message witout readin it. Wasnt a software error, I'm just an idiot.
