Has anyone else had trouble getting on to either of these sights the last day and a a half?  I have been getting blank pages lately.

Yes...also CI had been down too

Apparently they are all located within a short distance of each other...must of been a local service issue

They are back now.  It was a day and a half thing for Famous and Monster from the looks of it.  It took a day or so for Joe to start working too, but all is well now.

They're probably on the same server. There are a few companies that host nothing but cigar sites.

I got an email from then a few days ago, a "Message From The President" (of FSS that is).  They were hit with a Distributed Denial of Service attack.  Took them a few days to get it under control.

If not the same server, the same network.  Both company web sites resolve to the 199.7.79.x network segment, which falls into a registered NetRange of 199.7.78.0 - 199.7.80.255

Chances are the denial of service attack was oriented towards the company occupying the netrange and not the companies paying for hosting.

Someone found a vulnerability and exploited it.
