I graduated from Ohio State's Agriculture school in 1984 and something they were doing even before that was the Farm & Science Review each year which was a big (and now huge) show of what can be done on a farm at the current time.  3 of my best friends from high school have made it a tradition to go and last Wednesday was the day for us.  And what a great day it was.  One of my friends had to leave early because his first grand child (a girl) was being birthed that afternoon so he got a pass. But not before he got to spend almost the whole day with us at the show. So that girl will go down with respect in our world for holding off just for a little while.

The things they have now for the farm these days seem incredible to me.  And you almost can't stop trying to learn new things and we all love that.  But this here particular machine I think sort of freaked us all out.

You tell me that kid in the window doesn't think he is suddenly a transformer?   Yep...he's probably a farm kid.

Looks like a forest mulcher.....and a mean one at that.

Did you see anything new for Kubota at the 40-60 horse level CUT or UT tractors?
How about their new (alleged) RTV with a PTO on the front?

As an Aggie with a degree in Agronomy, that is pretty dang cool.

Kubota actually had a great display and we spent quite a bit of time there. All of us are in the same boat but my friends were looking more at the 30hp range for their needs and none of them asked about a front PTO so that never came up. I can say though that Kubota and John Deere went over the top for their displays and it is likely that one or (possibly two) of them made connections to purchase new Kubota tractors. They  both have general purpose needs with land and the Kubota line seemed better to them.

The RTV mentioned is a diesel ATV, not a tractor

Sorry yes I believe that you are correct. It does exist and was there. But we were there for tractors. It seems ridiculously large though

ETA: oh and it had leather seats.  Nobody else had that

good times, when i lived in ohio we would try to make it to farm science and the paul bunyan show in nelsonville. I graduated FABE in 11 and had some interesting labs that took us out to the ag center. For a silviculture lab we planted a stand of pawpaw trees near the back creek. This was shorty after the pawpaw was named ohio's state fruit. If you make it back to that area they also have some interesting stream stabilization techniques on display.

I've got a couple hundred acres that will soon be chopped up by one of those machines, they are pretty neat to watch.
